Well I got to agree with you Mark,I’m back from my photo shoot, the guys from practical sportsbikes are a great bunch of guys, very knowledgable and genuine motorcycle enthusiasts. Seen the bike before mine, art on wheels, with a turbo to boost!!And the bike after mine, the other end of the spectrum, plain and simple(based on a 50cc moped)but looked right from all angles and looked just”right”. So a mixed bag of bikes in the final 10. Been an eventful weekend for me,the wife and my 2 Yorkshire terriers. Left Plymouth and drove to Hull(340 miles)towing our caravan to exchange it for a smaller model as we both semi retired now and off touring France and Spain in September for a few months(my speed triple in the back of my van is coming with us,to enjoy some of the 320 days of sunshine😎) Unfortunately the caravan we were going to exchange had some damage, which the dealer didn’t notice,so we couldn’t do the exchange 😏 Won’t be ready for a few weeks now. Drove from Hull to a caravan park near the photo shoot.(2 hour drive),then the weather came in! Stuck in muddy/snow covered field, pipes frozen in the caravan,my old van wouldn’t start without help from a shot of “easy start”. No t.v. Reception,no wi-fi connection, Can’t travel back to Plymouth until at least tomorrow because the weather/snow has shut a section of M5 near where we live. The father in law keeping us up to date with the weather in Devon,(not looking good)but it’s another night in the caravan with frozen pipes,no t.v. No wi-fi Still mustn’t grumble,as they say! Baz Baz, I can't believe your still upbeat after that weekend . A bit warmer tomorrow so I hope you get home OK. Looking forward to meeting you in May. Cheers, Mark

Hey Yamark just curious, how would you rate its performance wise with a kawasaki h1 triple in decent tune? Doesn't matter if ya don't know. cheers and thanks in advance. ken Great question (I have a H1F), so know what they're like, the 550LC should make about 75hp as it's Mick Abbey tuned and pipes made by the great man. The LC is lighter as well, so I think it will be quicker than the H1. I'm sure the brakes and handling will be a touch better as well Thanks Mark for the detailed reply. I cant wait to get my triple on the road ,even more now. cheers

Awesome Mark, absolutely awesome Bike looks fantastic, truly worthy of all the praise it's had and will be getting in the future. The arty backgrounds will look great in the pics. Think they did the same theme last year. I thought Jim would love a well modified Lc Cant wait for the next issue now. I'll have to get you to autograph it !! Well done mate Dusty Bugger, should have got his autograph before he was a celebrity, probably can't afford one now

Happy days, this will be my first PSB mag since I started my sub. They were doing 24 issues for the price of 12 on their site for a while there, billy bargain.
Best of luck Yamark, I bet you get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing everyone is blowing their load over one of your fantastic creations.

Best of luck Yamark, I bet you get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing everyone is blowing their load over one of your fantastic creations. Thanks Simon, cheers for your kind words. It is a bit strange knowing the triple will be in a magazine. Also, I feel the bike is quite different to most specials. Builders of specials either make a bike that is quicker, very shiny, outrageous paintwork, café race or turn it into a street fighter - anything to turn it from standard. I've almost gone in the opposite direction, increased the power by a third, uprated cooling, suspension, brakes etc, then tried to make the bike look as standard as possible. At the Stafford show, I would say about 40% of people didn't realise it was a three cylinder machine!
Cheers, Mark

That's definately part of it's charm. It looks like it could have been one of the original Yamaha line up. Stellar work throughout.

Hold your breath guys as there are plans for ypvs multis in the pipeline . My own ypvs 3 cylinder will be the development mule for 2 ypvs 4-cylinder motors. They will be more difficult due to offset stud spacing but will be future proof.mine will be non powervalve banshee cylindered but using valves won't be an issue paired to an ignited controller.

Dusty, fantastic mate. I asked Dusty to post the pics as I'm out of the UK, working (Channel Isles). Really happy with the text, but the info on the output shaft is incorrect- mixed up with the gearchange shaft (CBR 600) For those of you that cant remember, the output shaft was made bespoke. I'm back at the end of the month. Cheers, Mark

The specials are all great, but honestly speaking, the 550 makes the others look lame. Really hope she wins.
