Thinking of getting a 1990 one, any thoughts on these bikes? seem like a cheap bike with decent performance, bit heavy though
Any thoughts or experiences with these?

Frames are steel so heavy as you say, charging problems common back in the day but probably sorted now. 18 inch rear wheels so limited choice of rubber. Build quality typical Yamaha so unless its been looked after will be a pile of fur by now.

I've just finished an FZR400 3TJ with a thundercat engine, this really does give you the best of everything in my opinion. Handling is of course incredible and looks. The 3tj has far superior chassis over the 600. Obviously this doesn't happen over night but the end result is well worth it. Can't keep off it now. Good luck with what ever you decide.

I had one years back and loved it but you need to keep good tyres on it as they are ace with new rubber but once they get worn you reoly know it .
