Got to get some new tyres for my Thunderace. Anyone got an opinion of what to choose? I don't do many miles a year, just want some good sticky tyres. Don't ride in the rain.( i know , what a wimp.) Opinions gratefully accepted Cheers Bodger.

?? can't comment on the others but have always had Bridgestone tires on my bikes. That's a little bit of a lie as I have Avons on my RD LOL. The very latest tires are now five compound round the edges pretty amazing stuff.

Look at metzeler m7rr, probably the best all round sports road tyre at the moment

I put a pair of Metzeller M7 RR's on my Husqvarna Nuda since the standard tyres were crap and I had a few times where they let go - admittedly it was on a track. The M7 s were so good, I put a pair on my Ducati 1198. They handle fairly neutral, just like the Supercorsas I've always used, warm up quickly and wear very well. They've done about 1500 miles now and have kept their profile, whereas the Supercorsas were knackered in under 1k miles incl the front. I'm getting no discolouration from heat cycles and the traction control isn't kicking in nearly as much in the damp when you give it a big handful. Fronts use 33 psi cold and rear 28, when hot, the pressures are bob on ? I put a few psi more in the Nuda when cold since it's about half the power of the Duc and doesn't get them as hot.

Diablo Corsa Rosso on my RR. Two summers use and these have shown NO suggestion of Flat centering unlike the rear Battlax on the LC, despite Twice the road mileage. Stick Like Chewing gum to a hot sidewalk too.. Even on coldish and wet roads. Seriously good tires, by any yardstick.

I do like Bridgestone.
I've had them on all my my bike bikes for a long while but have had met zener before that and they were good as well
Most modern stuff is good so get on m&p''s site on look at pair deals
Got a pair of bridgesones for £130 delivered last time. Maybe not the latest tyre but beyond my limits

Pirelli Diablo Corsa rosso on my S1000R, brilliant tyres but don't last as long as some. Had pilot road 4's on the speed triple and they were a fantastic all round tyre. Always had Dunlop sportsmarts on the R1's which I am going to put on the S1000 next. I do 8-10 thousand miles a year so mileage is important, but each to their own.

Tyres are a bit of a personal choice I know but I have always liked Bridgestone on my modern sportsbikes.
I have had Pirelli's on a Fireblade and an R1 and didn't like them on either.
