I bought some composite reeds of the web, and when I fitted them they don't seal completely flat, there is a gap. I'm wondering if this is OK, and they will seal correctly when there is a bit of negative pressure. If I suck on the carb side of the reed box they seal pretty well. My old metal reeds seal great... anyone know?

Assuming you've not overtightened the mounting screws (USE loctite!) or you have them on 'upside' down if there was a tiny curve to them. Then just ride. IF you have continuing probs.. from this (poor running etc) then buy and use oem Yama Banshee reeds.. V good and Very cheap.

If they are new they should fit flat . If they are second hand try turning them around .

Tightening the screws up will invariably lift the petals up slightly , unless the gap is excessive mate I wouldnt worry about it . You could always get the reed blocks skimmed and/or fit screws with a slightly bigger head to help nip-em'-down a bit more.................but as Bare says...........................Use some threadlock
