If the RD200 did have one, I wonder why it didn't follow on to the LC version??

I saw one in our local dealers (long gone) in Bedford; it was an RS200 electric. Basically looked like an RS100 with an RD200 lump forced into it, with an electric start. It was kind of sit-up-and-beg style, a bit like the old RD400 Daytona (I think it was called). Manky yellow colour, it was in there for years. I think he set fire to it in the end.

He's been trying to flog that for ages. Not long ago he threatened to do it up and sell it for 600 quid if nobody bought it.......funny old thing, no takers......

Looks like it's been filled and re-stamped at some point. A few years ago when I was looking for an LC engine it seemed like every other one I came across was nicked.

As I think your trying to say they know it’s dodgy otherwise why not use it for the complete restoration? The sad thing is if broken it would probably come close to £750 in parts. Jon

If the RD200 did have one, I wonder why it didn't follow on to the LC version?? the generator on the rd200 was different, more like a dynamo than the one on later LC's and the sister RD125 twin too. the dynamo was used as the starter by reversing the flow of current into the windings and making the crank spin. It's been a long time but thats how I remember it working. I used to have rd200 engines in my 125's even but fitted the 125 generator to the 200 cases, the cases were the same and just needed the blanked mount holes drilled and tapped on the 200 cases to accept the generator.

How about a brand new NSR crank from Honda for £545 (that's brand new direct from Japan) or this or this
