I suspect so myself.
However, why not put crap up for sale on eBay and describe it as so as there seems to be the small chance some idiot will come along and buy it if your that mercenary?
Not the spirit of those on here, but some people are in it for the money only.
Who would have thought an RD350LC wheel would sell for £280, or a basket case (albeit of good bits) would go for £5600.

That wheel was mine, said wheel was for sale on here for £75, i put a reserve of £70 and didn't hold a gun to anyones head to buy it. I am not in it for the money nor would I consider myself to be mercenary as many on here that I have sold bits too at well below eBay prices or have given things bits for free would attest to. I was as surprised as others at what it fetched.

The mercenary comment was in answer to ianr4863 question about the broken disk for £175! from our 'friend'. There is a big difference here in the fact that he lists his stuff at inflated BIN prices, which in some cases is clearly broken (even if he does say so in his listing). Yours was bided up, so you just got lucky. As you say you weren't asking a ridiculous price for it to start with. The comment about your wheel and the recent basket case was really a seperate but related point of how some people seem to pay way over the odds on eBay. Jon

maybe a member on here knows the seller wakefield aint that big Most people in Wakefield are first cousins - about 25% are closer related still - so it's a fair bet someone here is sharing a street or maybe a house with the seller.

£500 for the pair. If ever absolute crap like that is actually being sold at those prices then I'm going to sell my LC out of general principle.

why on earth he plasters all his bikes with WD40 is beyond me Quite common for chancers when their bikes are rusty and knackered, it masks a lot of the rust and scrapes. I see it a lot on motocross bikes - under all that WD40 they're rusty as hell. How do these people stay in business though? Surely people aren't buying wrecked bikes at those prices?

Used to see bikes covered in silicon spray for the same reason, makes them look all nice and shiney to mask the crap underneath, otherwise known as Knacker lacquer
