I take it where all you guys are there aren't any sunny dry winter days to go riding in albeit cold? Not so much the dry days but a combination of the condensation that forms on the bike as the air is moist and the bike cold and the tons of salt they put on the roads. Steve

Ahh yes I forgot about said salt
Does wonders for metal work...not and there isn't much stuff around that can remove it from every crook and nanny
It gets cold here -2 on occasions but no salt on the roads
temps soon warm up to about 15 or 16, still cold but ok if we rug up

Well maybe I am glad I got my bike in its Vac bag. I have been in my garage this weekend after cold , and now wet weather . The old tractor and other steel items in there are dripping wet . I opened the door yesterday , but with no breeze and the ground outside wet not really drying anything.
I did ask about bringing the bike into the conservatory , only to get the dagger eye look! I 'll have to work on that one yet.

Got myself a vac bag as gave up trying to convince the wife that LC needed to go in the dining room, so drained fuel from tank and carbs , changed oil, 2stroke oil down barrels and gave her a good clean. Pushed into bag and placed drisorb bag inside, sucked out air and cable tied bag up. Hopefully will come out in March the same as went in.

I use mine all year round, my brother does the same with his, more than me, we usually spray some penetrating type oil, (I don't use WD-40), on th olive and mild steel bits to keep the oxidization away, at the moment I'm using gun oil to keep my metal bits fresh, when that tins empty I will start using the tins of GT-85 from the pound shop,

I know I am kicking up an old thread , but its the second part of the story... I brought a Vac bag last year to winter my bike in , it was the first time I have tried one. Must say I got it out yesterday with great results . Not a spot of dust even , no damp, the polished alloy was a shiney as it went in . So put on the battery I took off to trickle charge a few times over winter ,new fuel in , kicked up 4 th kick. Got the bag out in the back and folded it up and into the bag it came in, put the crytals in the window to dry out, but must say felt dry anyway. I am well pleased with the Vac bag . Just how it went it 4 months ago Got round the back of house to give it another check over, before going for first ride of year. Oh did put mirrors back on too. Done a 80 mile ride today in the sunshine.

Your paddock stand looks very similar to mine, but I can't use it with standard pipes fitted, not really that worried as I have side and centre stands fitted, interested if any one has overcome this problem Lovely looking bike too by the way, love the gold wheels with the mars bar paint job

Although I had same trouble has you when I come to use it on this bike. It was to wide to use when the pipes were on, fine for building up the bike, so cue the A team music and get out the grinder and welder . I cut mine in half and narrowed it down around 3 inches , them chopped to to tubes above the pivot blocks down , and filled them with silicon . Its still a faf to get it under the bike on my own , as the stand wants to slide down the swaing arm until it touches the pipes , it just slides up to the pipes , thats why I have a big pad of silicon on the tubes. Not ideal , but I have lost the center stand over the years , did have one once , and have had a center stand on a bike with Allspeeds. Is handy for chain maintenace and the like. Yes Vac bag worked great , esp if you see the state inside my garage!
