Hi mate,
Go into the top of the "80LC & 125LC Chat" section, then up the top right of the page, do a couple of searches, say one for Micron, then one for Allspeed and you will find the topic has been discussed many many times before.
They both work well but give different power deliveries and rev ceilings.

Most of my mates used allspeeds back in the day. I was too cheapskate to buy an LC and ragged round on a Suzuki GT125 twin which wasn't restricted. It went like the wind but it's handling was interesting on its square Avon speedmasters.

Allspeed, back in the day the micron had the edge- yet it was loud and harder to set up. I'm on the look out for a Mk2 project- so an allspeed for me- if I ever find one for a fair price

Hi guys. I am new in this forum, but old in two strokes. I have a motorcycle mechanic magazine somewhere from back in days, where they test a wide range og spanniers on the dyno. 6 on the 125 lc, and same on the 350. On the 125 they also did test micron, and allspeed. There are curves attached for every pipe. And the outcome was that the allspeed was superior. The test is called "spanniers on the dyno" I can look after the magazine if anyone is interested. Regards Daniel

In the day, I had small can Allspeed, large can allspeed, swarbrick, small can micron, large can micron and micralloy and the small can micron was the daddy. Me and all my mates drew the same conclusion. Flat before 6k but flies after.

When I was 17 a rebuilt my rd 125 mk 2 I was a apprentice mechanic back then very fond memories I had it ported pissed around with jets every day at work to extract any more speed it was the best with standard expansion air box and a small can micron my mate had the exact same stuff done on engine but had a all speed now his had more torque at lower revs when we pulled off together but mine had loads more drive when it hit the powerband we always swopped bikes and it was the same result I think it doesn't really matter as what you gain you lose one is good top end another is good bottom then one is a arounder

allspeed wider spread of power, micron has better top end with a powerband that peaks at 10.5k, allspeed done by 9.5k ish
small can allspeed on mine, but i also like microns, nikon

best depends on purpose and taste and looks

I think BEST depends on what you had on your bike 25 to 30 years ago when you were 17, which was what was available and what you could afford. Its all about being retro and re-living your youth at the end of the day. Lol
