Not that this is in any way to get my post count up so i can see bikes for sale, or an attempt to whore some pics of my wares you understand Anyway locked away in a deep lockup in north wales somewhere there may or may not be some of these bikes. Hi my names X and i am a serial bike hoarder. Been in love with 80s and 90's bikes for far too long, and spend all my money on them (much to the annoyance of other family members) I have a problem (not enough storage) So firstly to get things rolling, here is possibly what most will see as the jewel in the crown. A Honda RC30. Owned since 2002 and thrashed around northwales and cheshire since then. Not some polished garage queen by any means, it gets used and ragged all weathers (infact wetter and snowy weather prefered just to upset the purists) and wears its battle scars with pride. It may look fairly standard, but it does wear a NC30 front wheel, RC45 rear wheel, Maxton ride height converter, Maxton rebuilt / set up rear shock and forks to suit me, Large capacity rads, extended sump and perhaps one of two other bits. This has appeared in a few bike mags (as no one else seems willing to let journo's thrash their RC30's around without supervision) and did a real 151mph with Bruce Dunne on board at brunters. Anyway there is plenty more to come (need to get that post count up - did i mention i am looking for a usable LC / N2 ?) Pic1 - ridden around wales getting caught in lots of snow and gritted roads. you could hear it corroding when parked up after. But fear not it does scrub up ok

While we are on the subject of V4's did i mention my passion for 400's ? Well oddly enough i do also have a nice late original UK spec NC30 which sadly has not been used in nearly 2 years now. i also have a early RVF too. There are also a couple of each in various states of undress or in kit form waiting to be tackled and get their turn on the bench to be turned around. I have one RVF special which will get the 5 spoke dymags and the full carbon bodykit and 440 motor. Anyway a picture of the UK spec NC30 and the RVF#2 together catching some rays before being shut back into darkness.

Lovely collection mate, fair play on using the RC30 in all weathers, im not sure I could be so carefree with omne of those but good on you.
Good luck with your search for an LC to add to it.

Ah well life's too short to worry about losing 2p on its value by not taking out as and when you feel like IMO. these bikes are also so damn good to ride today and make much sense. granted parts are scarce and if i bin it - i bin it. the irony is thought its probably worth more in bits than a complete bike. Now back to the bikes, well next up is my old 916. bought in 2002 to slow me down after a spell on a blade. This particular example started life as an old strada, i instantly converted it to BP spec to take the mrs on the back. Now fully rebuilt with SP crank, pistal pistons, chris mayhew heads and a bit of a hybrid gearbox (half 748 half 998RS), 749 starter motor and it goes rather well and sounds like a Ducati should. Other mods are the later forks (maxton setup) and a rear ohlins from a 748R and of course 5 spokes with a spattering of MS production carbon. Its taken me around europe (just) and is a real riders bike.

next up, possibly seen as the cream of the crop in the 400 import scene, and certainly one of the most desirable for some reason. My FZR400RRSP 3TJ6. not much to say about it really, its nice, its uncomfortable, it goes ok, and is in remarkable condition for a 90's yamaha thats been used. I dont ride this much at all and it tends to sit in the back of the lockup, i just dont gell with it, and its hard work to get the best from on the road. on track i have no doubt it excels.

Love the RC, I can understand why you ride it all the time as there is nothing else that comes close. I had one back in the mid nineties, I use to love dropping it into 3rd gear at about 110mph, the thing use to pull like a rocket and sound lovely. I had a micron pipe on it.
I haven't riden anything since that comes close...maybe the SP2 does slightly!
I rode all the way to Bruntingthorpe from Plymouth in the pouring rain for a Performance Bikes RC30 gathering, I managed to top 149.5mph and got in the Performance Bike mag.
Sadly beers and birds clouded my vision and I traded it in for a Fireblade, enough said! I the time I was chuffed as I didnt loose any money on it, if I had kept it I would have doubled my money!
Still hopefully one day my garage will house another, enjoy it and dont sell it.

Cheers Brinky, i will never sell it. to be honest i will thrash it and enjoy it till i either crash it or blow it then break it and sell it for parts and get more than its worth as a complete bike i bet too lol.
This RC made 151mph at bruntingthorpe on the data logger with bruce dunn on board. this RC (and one of my NC35's and my MC28 Rothmans) have also made the press a few times (HRC article i think Nov 2012 in Bike Mag)
They are fantastic bikes and great road bikes. nice to hear someone else enjoyed theirs and has good memories thrashing one too.
