I've read somewhere that a Fzr400 4 pot front caliper will bolt straight onto an Rd125lc. Is this true as the extra braking force would obviously be advantageous. My front brake seems very poor compared to most modern bikes. Had anyone actually done this conversion to their bike?

This is correct if you have a MK2 or3 But not for the MK1

I have a mk3, so after the confermation on here that the 4 pot Fzr400 caliper will fit, I bought one on eBay tonight. £25, which I didn't think was too bad. Will let you all know how I get on once it's fitted.

It's gotta be an FZR400 3TJ caliper with 83mm hole centres. Most FZR calipers are 100mm spacing so won't fit.

Oops, I've bought an fzr400 1wg caliper. You live and learn I suppose. I wonder if I could manufacture a bracket to make it fit?

Oops, I've bought an fzr400 1wg caliper. You live and learn I suppose. I wonder if I could manufacture a bracket to make it fit? Just had a look and the 1WG orginally has the big twin pot calipers (like the MK2/MK3 caliper but bigger) so does have 83mm centres. So hopefully the caliper you have bought is a 4 pot that someone has retrofitted to a 1WG! Hope so

Not fitted yet although they have arrived. I'm waiting on some ebc brake pads now. I've ended up with 3 calipers, lol. The first was from a Fzr400 1wg (gold in colour) and did have 100mm between centres for the securing bolts which obviously didn't fit. I then had to buy a pair of 3tj four pots (left and right side). These are the silver sumito calipers and have the correct 83mm between centres to fit the Rd. If anyone needs a left hand fzr400 3tj caliper or right side 1wg just let me know.
