Never in a month of Sundays.
I have a mint RD400F and I don't reckon even that would fetch that price.
£3000 tops

The DX F model is hardly worth anything at all unfortunately - perhaps £500 at the most. If you are anywhere near Wakefield and can deliver it to my house I'll have it off you if you want rid though. Might even stretch to £600.

Hi, To be fair, none of these old strokers are "worth" the money they go for really. I sold my Hybrid Lc/ypvs last year, and with the respray the owner added after purchase, that bike cost £6000.00. I actually sold it for £3500, and bought an 06 Fz1n with 4k of extras for £3600. As much as I loved that Hybrid, it could never be in the same league value wise as the Fz. But that's not why we do it, and even though I know I wont get my money back on my bikes, I still can't build them any other way. I don't drink or smoke and my bikes are my only indulgence. Having said that, there are a lot of people out to make big bucks on the back of the nostalgia trip, and that's what you're seeing with that 250f in the advert. Same with the usual suspects who advertise utter crap parts on ebay. May suit you !! Dusty

Hi, Believe me, if I thought I could get six grand for it I wouldn't have sold it for 3.5 ! Let's be honest, these 30 year old bikes aren't rebuilt at great cost so you could make money on them, it just doesn't work. I'm sure most guys here build them for a different reason, and if you do it properly with the correct parts, it is expensive.

I bought 2 f2's to get me and Debs into the 2 stroke scene again, probably the best value for money for rideable machines, on the down side (not that it is one to me) but the reality is no matter what I spend the end value will be considerably less than say an LC, the parts are similar ish bar some rarer parts, so in a way a worst bet to rebuild, but I want to ride them and have fun etc and tinker in the garage, next winter maybe mildly tune one for the hell of it, can't buy my young body back, can't hang around with the same gang at the shops with the RD's etc cos the gang aint there, but I can buy back my 2 stroke youth, what price can you put on that, and no matter how rich you are money can not buy the satifaction or acheivement in re building or just keeping one of these things going......Cheers PS I have my £3500 ready and waiting !
