Hello some years ago I had modified my '86 RD350F2 1WT to a RD350N2 1UA and then modified to a RZ250R 3HM1, the last model developped and sold in Japan. All needed parts come from Japan from a RZ250R 3HM1 '88 model: Parts created for this 3HM1 model:
Rear arm (10mm longer and 2mm wider). Chain guard. Head light bracket. Fork. Front wheel 2.15 rim for 100/80-17 tyre Lower front and rear brake hose. Indicators + flasher relay (because 10W bulb in Japan) Radiator + grill. Part taken by YAMAHA from other motorcycles:
TZR250 (2MA): Rear wheel 2.5 rim for 120/80-17 tyre + rear brake caliper + rear caliper bracket + front mudguard. FZR250 (2RF): Fork tube and handle bar. FZR400 (1WG): Front+ rear disks brake + speedometer. XZ550: Rear mirrow view. TZR250 (2XT): Tachometer. TZR250 (2AW): Engine temperature.

By the few comments I have on my bike (and it's not a problem ) It's interesting to see the difference between France and UK for Elsie's: in France, people facinated by these motorcycles are interested in all models from 4L0 to 1WT and a lot of on the French forum member love it; and most of people in UK seems manly interested by 4L0... In addition in France there is no grey bikes, so even if my bike is not a real grey bike, it's unique and so even more appreciated 1966baz, yes I agree and with the side aluminum of the radiator grill, it's the main visible modification but "only" with new style gold color wheels, it changes the complete motorcycle style ! I have tryed to figure out why Yamaha Japan have made these modifications and the best I have found it's that these RZ250 were at the end of their life cycle and 3 years earlier the TZR250 was launched is Japan and so launching a new RZ in Japan should have a new style , a refresh and so they switched to these wheels... Perhaps in addition they had a lot of spare rear wheel from European below TZR250 (Japanese TZR250 had larger wheels) and so recycle them...

I like the n2 but the tanks a give away that it was an f2, I love the TZR,my favourite colour and well underrated over here Forums here tend to think the 4lo is the best and the rest are inferior models, not me though,I'm in favour of the 31K

Hi Xavier, I love the 3 spokes on the Ypvs. I think they suit the style of the bike perfectly. A few years back, I managed to pick up a project rolling chassis that had an Rzr front end and rear wheel; It also had a rare Hejira box section mono swingarm fitted. It would make specials building much easier if there were more Rzr front ends about, as lots of people like the 3 spoke wheels on our bikes. Dusty
