Hi All. OK, time to get those creative juices flowing. I'm going to need to repaint my 31K but I'm also going to need some inspiration (not very arty me). I've mentioned elsewhere on here (Post in :- The fascination with standard bikes?) that I quite like Candy Blue but not sure if it will suit a 31K. I'm currently trawling the net for suitable images but, well we know how that ends up. Any schemes gratefully received, but trust me, I will blatantly copy what I like.

I built a 31k many years a go it was black with red kenny Roberts blocks and white pinstripes also had the blocks shaded in which made them look 3d wish I still had it now

Hmm. Racing colours. Kind of like the Gulf race scheme, I wonder if a combination of Gulf & speed block would work

call me old fashioned but unless its modded to the hilt, ive not seen anything that bests the OE Yam schemes or a take on those schemes..

The original schemes are good, have done 5 YPVS's over the last 4 years and have always done a standard scheme or a variation of one. If you look the candy blue why not use the Lc2 31k scheme but do it in the candy with the french blue decal with the dark blue stripe done in silver. Steve

I must admit as much as I like it on cars I've pushed the gulf design around on other bikes I've done & never got it to look good enough to keep so changed it, never had the impact & looked lost on bike panels. Is there a car rattle can equiv of the 4LO candy blue ? also the shades in the stripes ? with careful prep, practised technique & bags of patience I've had really good results with rattle can paint & laquer. I would rather do this & then have another go if I don't like the design than spend £££ on a pro job & then hate it, plus I have more time than cash. Candy Blue instead of the white, black blocks with silver borders Or a version of KR, Candy Blue instead of the yellow, black blocks with silver borders Come on Goody, get a fekin grip, starting to sound like Gok Wan

Keep em coming, this is exactly the inspiration i'm after. every time I see a new design I change my mind (so fekin fickle) I see that Red'n'white LC2 has popped up again in the background.

Hi All. Been slow progress but getting there. Went for a what I think is a sympathetic scheme in the end. Will update when the tank & front muddie are done. Cheers. Goody.

Attachment DeletedI agree with copper99, can't beat the OE paint schemes which I think are iconic.. I had a dark silver and grey stripe set made up for my Hybrid LC and it looks like original but with a twist !!
