I wish.
I grew up in Stoke so we all used to ride over to Matlock on a Sunday. I've got great memories of the place.
Last time I was there was maybe 2007/2008, still the same, lovely place.

had a good ride out.roads were pretty quiet apart from 100s of cyclists plenty of LC chat ;D ashbourne,matlock,monyash then cat and fiddle.80 mile in total if you ever get the chance to ride on the staffs moorlands B roads,take the chance

I'll have to have a run down this summer.
We used to go through Blythe Bridge, Cheadle and then across through Ashbourne and up to Kniveton and up to Matlock. There is a double switchback bend in Kniveton and my swingarm bolt sheered off once when I was cranked right over - never seen anything like it before or since - my swingarm was only held on by the shock absorber and I ended up in the bushes wondering what the hell had happened.

sounds pretty scary icarus i head out of ashbourne toward buxton.turn right when you get to newhaven.then its all downhill into matlock ;Dgoing this way you pick the famous "via gellia! sequence of bends up,fantastic ;D
