When i said i thought i'd try it for size, i've booked a test ride at ducati manchester, in a few weeks, i'm offshore at the moment, been reading a lot of good things about these fun bikes, The SP version is the tallest at 890mm and i'm slightly vertically challenged, so my other option if thats too tall even with the lower seat option 870mm, then it's the the HyperStrada which can be ordered as a special lowered to 810mm, comes with lots of extras too. I'm hoping to do a bit more mileage maybe some touring thrown in. I'll post how i get on one i've had a go, just excited at the thought of ordering one soon.

Well new bike arrived last friday, had to wait for the special ordered lower version from the factory. Did 380 miles over the weekend, what a bike, still running in till 600 miles so kept it below 6000 rpm, well most of the time, it handles telepathic, you only have to think of going into a corner fast and your round it, effortlessly. Weird seating position at 1st because your sat bolt upright, the brakes are impressive and 1 or two fingers will easy stop you. The riding modes are brilliant, kept it in touring mode most of the time but sport mode is mental. The ABS and traction work great. and for going round town the urban mode works well, smoothing out the throttle and gutting hp to 75. Whilst running in and riding hard to 6000rpm i've been getting an average of 61.5mpg. that should give me a tank range of about 200. Only downside is its a pain in the ass to get on and off with an inside leg of 29" even worse with panniers on, I've adapted to standing on the foot peg whilst on the side stand to get on or off. Can't wait till its had its 1st service at 600 and then open it up. Next service will be 18,000 miles!!!! on a duke lol. Back at work now and got withdrawals!!! edit. think i might have got my 1st speeding ticket round Wales too at the weekend.
