Hi All, Just bought this FZ750. Really nice original bike. Very '80's yamaha and I love the exposed engine / short side fairings. Always remember when they first came out. All standard except the stainless 4 into 1. I'll be slowly (emphasis on slowly) improving it. Cheers Andrew

Lovely, had an '85 and an '86 myself and they are great bikes. Look amazing with EXUP running gear too. That model should have a small belly pan though and they are like rocking horse to find.

Very nice bertie, I toyed with one of these just before I bought the Slabbie, still have a hankering for one now, and it would have to be the first one like this too.. looked at a few, but nice ones are getting harder to come by. Even joined the FZ forum 'just in case' A few nice ones popped up for sale occasionally. have you got a standard exhaust for it???

No standard exhaust unfortunately but will keep an eye out for one or bits. Not too bothered really as the Remus is like new Thanks for the comments guys. Cheers Andrew

They do run a lot better on a 4-2 system as per the original. Both mine had originals to start with and I bought a Micron full system for one of them. It made it run a lot worse at low revs and was really flat below 4k. I think I still have one half of an original system in very good nick if you're interested? I'll try and grab some pics if you are as it's in my Dad's cellar at the moment.

Hi, Have you seen the May edition of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics? Steve Parrish has got a hold of an FZ 750 and he is restoring it, with some help. I only got my copy today, and have not read the full thing yet, but as readers of CMM will know, Niall Mackenzie is also restoring a 350 LC. I had a quick look at the article, and Steve Parrish recons that they might have a challenge when they are both completed, he suggested perhaps 10 laps of Donnington, with the FZ against the LC. Im a great LC fan, and would love to see the LC winning, but I fear that Elsie may get humped? What does everyone else think? steven,

I would have thought the FZ would win unless the LC was tuned.

I had a 1990 FZ750 that I bought new. Loved it but my brothers CBR600 of the day would run rings around it till we got to a straight... I feel an eBay search coming on....!! )
