Just had these two out for a quick blast. I went on the Blue & white one and the son in law on the Red & white one. First time on a proper 2 stroke road bike for him and he was grinning like a loon when we got back . 126 by Gary Woodward, on Flickr IMG_1950[3611] by Gary Woodward, on Flickr

Mocked up a hydraulic clutch which i had on my Rgv, been sat in the garage for ages, i'll have to fit billet fanimolds but that's what i was going to do anyway, just plodding along with this engine. Another day of tinkering pre-mot. Found striped threads in my lower fork triples for the horn mounts.. (also, one horn not working) then spotted a fuel leak on one of the carbs.. making its way down into the belly pan... I now stink of fuel and have contaminated the settee... so I've been told.

It's already got a valid mot, until the 13th of November apparently. I couldn't believe that's only an 80cc machine, lovely looking bike.

Absolutely gorgeous nothing else to say. Hopefully next year with all our building works done will get my 500 out, has not been used at all this year just started and warmed through once for the grand kids to expierence. Took them one at time up and down the road on my TY175 and they loved it(private road). Mentioned to youngest Reuben will take him on the 500 and he said no to fast Grandad - he's 5yrs old.

Got the lc through its mot on Friday. Maybe not next year as will be 40 in March 2021. Also out today to the village of Offham in Kent for the annual meet up. Not as big as usual but a good turn out none the less.

Got a nice used service manual which will hopefully help me fix the 500 which has come down with a terrible case of PCS. (Pissing Carb Syndrome). Petc**k in ON position. Not Prime.

Got a nice used service manual which will hopefully help me fix the 500 which has come down with a terrible case of PCS. (Pissing Carb Syndrome). Petc**k in ON position. Not Prime. First thing to do is strip the carbs and check/replace the float valve and float heights. Also put on long Overflow pipes so they don’t pee into the belly pan. oh check the fuel tap too as fuel shouldn’t pass through without the motor creating a vacuum unless it’s on prime which could mean a deal kit etc. finally get yourself an air gauge to balance the carbs once they’re been apart

Thanks lcmarky. Yes, it only leaks when motor’s running- such as traffic lights etc. Fine sitting in garage. Previous owner already re-routed the pipes so they poke out of belly pan- so I think it’s been on going, yet, erratic issue. Bike is low mileage, 8k, but I think I’m going to fork out for the new valves & gaskets that have been sitting in my shopping cart for a week. I guess time will wear them out too.
