I exchanged The TSA's for a set of standard cigar pipes on my 400cc engine. Since ive rejetted the carbs to suit, i wanted to get it checked on the dyno for the jetting and also for the diameter of the stinger.
I'm now back in the the GS 550 club.
It made 57 PK.
I wanted to put the cigar pipes on my 250 and test the heat proof powder coating on the pipes But the bike is too modified for plug and play.
So far the powder coating is working well and there is also lots of salt on the roads at the moment.

Shortly before the snow arrived in Sheffield, so did these little beauties, fresh from powder-coating and refinishing by the most excellent C J Ward of Burton on Trent. They are probably better than new now...

Airbox mounted including rubbers in a shed at 0 degrees Celsius. A job for which you need tiny hands. Which I have not. At some time thought my cold fingers would brake into pieces. But, job done. Let's see if it will run tomorrow

Pulled the engine from me N1 hybrid, it's always had a clutch rattle from the last rebuild, it's done around 2500 miles since i dropped a new crank and pistons in it, quite pleasantly surprised how the internals look, bit of carbon build up, but it's getting re-bored this time so no worries there. Going to change the gearbox bearings as it's the main clutch bearing that's knackered. The detonation marks on the head have always been there. Andy. Took the battery off, put it on the Optimate for an hour. Reconnected it and five kicks later it lives! I’m so looking forward to Spring - but some time to go yet!!

Ohh Chris! lovely to see that clean bike coming apart.
FWIW if you fit the TZR fuel tap instead of the OEM twin outlets to the tank, you can remove the tank totally if you wanted to do that.

Carbs peeing fuel? Situation normal.... despite changing all the internals and having them bench flow tested many times, they still do it on random occasions, however, riding (thrashing ..) it settles it all .

My 500 does exactly the same after it has been stood for a while but stops after some fresh fuel has run through the carbs and cleared out the crap that seems to accumulate when fuel is left for a while

Fitted new RamAir foam filters! As some of you will know, removing the old air box is a B@stard but fitting the new foam filters took <10 minutes. 😎 Now for some re-jetting. 🤓 Yamaha RD350LC RamAir by Geoffrey Butler, on Flickr
