My dad runs a 72 tiger 650 very similar to your bonnie. You can tell from the first 2 letters of engine and frame numbers what month and year your bike was built. Triumph model year run from august one year to july the next so your bike could have been build in 71 as a 72 model. My dads bike starts KG so this means it was build sept 71 as a 72 model. Some info on numbers here. www.britishspares.com/41.phpIts worth finding the exact year and month of your bike as things changed through out the production run of the year. Your bike bike looks like an early 72 bike as it looks to have the tall frame and screw in tappet covers.

my bike also starts with KG, made sep 71 but a 72 model, they are fairly tall, im 6"and wouldnt weant my legs to much shorter, a 5th gear would be good but i have to admit it still goes fairly well

You'll love it! Yes, Some of the old bikes are tall!!!! My Commando is and I'm nearly a foot shorter than you ken!!!! But as the saying goes.... You can climb any tree when it's felled!

I've got a T140V, but the V bit is currently broken, awaiting some time to have a look. I can recommend www.hawkshawmotorcycles.com/ if you need bits

all the paint is fresh, but needs a real good going over, it appears it was a static display, new cables , brakes, tyres seat cover, fluids, good tune and alot of other small things, probably more of a recommission than a resto, tore a bloody calf muscle a week ago while mucking around and cant start it now, pity it hasnt got an electric starter

funny you should say that about the oil on floor, it has a leak from the sump plug that im confident of stopping, about 2 or 3 drops a day,, my mate got a 69 tiger at the same time and once he cleaned all the oil caked crud off the bottom it leaks like a sieve, hes not amused.
