off course...
thing to remember is the german 80 is in fact a 125lc chassis with an 80cc engine....
and theres an rz50 which looks identical to the english rd80lc which has the prefix '1hk'
and i have the fiches for: Rz50 1hk RD80LC 11a RD125LC 10w RD125LC Mk3 1gx (covers most mk2 + mk3's) and of course DT125's RD250, 350 + 500lc

The german 80 engine in the 125 uk style chassis is a 30w. The german 10x is the same as a uk 80lc but with different indicators. cheers gaz

As many of you probably already know there is also an RZ50 5r2 which predates the 1hk. The 1hk was a very subtle update of the 5r2 and came standard with the bikini and belly pan. The 5r2 has the same style head as the UK RD80LC and German 10x model which has the water pipe coming out the top as opposed to the 1hk and German rd80lc 30w which have them coming out the side.

Does the rd80lc 2 have the same swinging arm as the rd125lc I believe so, just the same as our 125, but with an 80 engine (german bike usually, but not sure if sold in other countries) just got to watch out on fleabay, if you're after 'our' RD80 parts.

Ah I've been wrong all this time, a quick google would have told me that. I have a 1984 mk1 (10w, big wheels, single piece handle bar, mk1 square clocks) and thought it was a UK model. My dad has a 1986 mk 2, 12a engine, mk2 wheels, mk2 forks, mk2 clocks etc. They're both 'matching numbers' bikes so i thought they were original. According to this webpage I'm very wrong. www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Yamaha-RD125LC-Model-types-/10000000202510677/g.html

Here is something you may or may not have ever seen, in South Africa somebody made up fairings and scoops for the original naked model RZ50(5R2). Most of us had these fairings etc on our bikes, I never got to the bottom of who originally manufactured them. I think it completes the bike beautifully. Picture is of my friends bike.

is the 1GU a full power version? ive just got mine from Switzerland and it has the powervalve fitted your ausweis will say 15.5KW, the ypvs doesnt affect the peak power, although after testing I was surprised to see it still affects sprint times, probably related to changing into 3rd and 4th with more midrange available

That's a good post, I missed that. I have wondered if the car temp senders people were selling were a good ohms range.
