Been progressing slowly, done some home nickel plating of the parts I forgot to take to the platers before Christmas Refurbished the coils & started the new wiring loom. Also refurbed the clocks which weren't in bad condition, just needed the orange bits re-painting & remove the rust & paint the cases. Ready to go back together. Finished article, well happy with that Also refurbed the switchgear I'm using from a KR1s plus the front brake master & clutch perch. Got some nice after market billet levers. That's all at the moment, got to finish the wiring loom & going to start on the stator & points assembly.

Looking very good, nickel plating is of an impressive quality - I've being having a go with a Gateros zinc kit, some bits have come out really well - bit inconsistent at the moment ? Hat off to you for attention to detail

Nickel plating takes practice & it still goes wrong some times, few tips. 1. Make sure the solution is up to temperature with fish tank heater. 2. Check the voltage between the anode & work piece, should be around 5v 3. Use a fish tank bubble bar to keep the solution moving. 4. Don't get the work piece to close to the anode or it can go black 5. wear rubber gloves to keep the parts clean after you remove them from the acid bath.

I like to walk past a bike and then think hang on what was that and go back and have a second look so for that reason I like twin shocks standard but not if you get my gist

Well wiring is all complete & working & the front & rear brake lines are fitted so all that's left now is engine & paintwork.

Haven't updated for a few months but got the engine back from vapour blasting. All rebuilt And back in the frame with a bit of help from one on my mates, it's surprising how heavy these engines are. Finally got the wiring finished & found a location for the reg/rec & the brake reservoir Splashed out some cash & bought one of these it's amazing how much lighter they make the clutch. Pipes, carbs etc are all fitted now I decided to make a stubby kick start as I haven't got a proper KH one that's any good so I cut down an old RD350 one Welded it back together, nickel plated it & fitted a refurb kit. Quite happy with the result. Got a call today from the painter saying he's finished so going up to collect my paint set on Thursday, bit of a different take on the standard theme, pearlesent white with dark gold pinstripes & black lettering. Sorry crap photos off the iPhone This arrived as well, unfortunately when I told him I wanted a 12mm offset he did this from the back (which has a shoulder) instead of the front :? so it's had to go back for another to be made, so if anyone needs a 520 pitch 8mm offset sprocket he has one in stock.
