A friend of mine had one in black,it was the fastest and most nimble bike I've ever seen in my life. I get cramp in my wrists and hips if I ride my fireblade too hard so I imagine a CBR400 would be torture, but that bike impressed me so much. I'm 44 now,but if I were 10 years younger I would definately go for it. Ace bike!

I'm 5' 9.5" and 13 stone . . . . .yet also only 18 in my head. You'll definately have no regrets in buying it,it'll re-sale easy if you can't get on with it. My mates bike was very reliable but it's the performance that was so exceptional,I'll never forget that bike. Mad mad machine, would bury a ypvs.

Well I,m younger than you 2(in my head) but only the height of a bike racer! It's not the size of the bike that makes it comfortable but the distance betweet seat & bars, for me anyway. My CB900 was near perfect. Go & sit on the 400 & test one if poss. And Mick, 5' 8' IS tall!!!!! Shame you sold the PV I,ll be looking for one as soon as shed is up, no room @ moment.

Hi Mick A fella rides one past my house most days. Looks a lovely bike, and being a Honda, will be well made. He does look cramped on it though, it is a race rep at the end of the day and will have a riding position to suit that fact. He isn't a tall looking fella either. As said, get a sit on one first. I've built bikes in the past with clip ons and rearsets, but nowadays its about standard pegs and Renthalls If it's uncomfortable, you wont want to ride it so make sure you get a sit on one first. beleive it or not, they are known to eat there exhaust cams/cam buckets!!!coz they rev so high,so if you do go to look at one, make sure the motor is cold, start her up.and have a good listen while its warming up,ANY rattles coming from it,walk away!take my word on this, ive seen a few eat em!!other than that,a nice little race rep.

If its too small but you still want a 400, ZXRs are a bit bigger almost like a full sized bike

I used to race an earlier version of the NC29, the NC23 Tri-Arm.. Unfortunately, as I'm 6'4" and weigh 14 Stone it was like a mini-moto with me on it... ;D It was the sweetest handling bike in the class but just didn't have the power to keep up with the ZXR400's... The benefit of the 29 over the 23 is that it has the 17" back wheel already and decent tyres are still available to suit. The downpipes tend to rot out so a stainless steel alternative is a good decision. There's a host of info on them at www.400greybike.co.ukHave fun... Reggie
