Sunday 2nd September We will do the Isle of Wight run going from Southampton to East Cowes via Red Funnel ferrys We can catch the 09;00am ferry to get in East Cowes by 10;00 to meet our tour guide. (Colin the Caulkhead and his possy) The plan to meet at 08;15 at Rownhams services (East or West bound as we can cross the motorway via the subway) as last year then ride into Southampton centre to catch the ferry. This is between Junctions 3 and 4 of the M27 you will need to meet Westbound side near the fuel station. Price for ferry £29.00 return www.redfunnel.co.uk/public/bookings/view

I did this run last year on my RD125LC no probs.
If you've got a long way to get to the Southampton Ferry just bring ya bike down on a trailer or in a van (maybe even share with someone) ?.

Norbo will be there coming from Notting ham in his van but he may be taking Ginger and staying for a few days, thats what he did last year. Norb loves this photo of him and ginger so much it makes him cry.

what time would we be coming back on the ferry? and where would i be able to park the van near the meeting point?

We usualy catch the 3.30 or 4.30 ferry and parking wont be a problem at Rownhams services or my house. You will have to pay a small fortune to park it at the ferry terminal but most meet at my place.

I definatley will be doing this . and gowing with my ginger . and yes i do love that pic so much it makes me cry lol. I will be statying for a week on the island and make a holladay out of it just like last year.

just been on the ferry website to book but am a little confused (not hard i know ) what times are we booking the 9 am outward and click flexi? and the 4.30 return and click flexi?

got brave and did as i said above, so my ferry tickets are booked so can i park van at yours please paul? and what time at yours? 3 and a half hours to southampton for me

There will be loads there mate I book a ferry back but you can just turn up and they always fit bikes on so booking the return is not that important. Should be a good one.

Theres always a few diesesl go on this run but its not a problem, we slow down at certain points so they can catch up.

Stripped the rear hub out of the VFR today. Now I can adjust the chain Booking ferry tickets tomorrow. See you all at Rownhams on the 2nd.
