very tidy bike good standard of hard work on this should handle like a dream Hopefully so, managed to get it back on it's wheels about 30 mins ago and had a sit on it. A lot firmer than before, if it's dry tomorrow I'll take it round the block and see. Can't do too much on it as just fitted the zeel so on a standard prog and not been checked with a strobe yet. Had a peek up the exhaust ports just to check if the 100 mile run then thrashed had been ok and glad to say pistons are perfect with no marks. Also swapped the pilots for 36's and fitted thum screw air scews so at least I can adjust without having to take the carb off. Steve

Cheers guys Had it out the other night, wow zeel makes a massive difference. Relentless from 7k till 10.5k rev limiter so has sorted the power tail off above 9k. Doesn't feel so good between 5 and 7 so going to keep valves closed a bit longer as they were starting to open at 4300. Hopefully get it out tonight if it stays dry, valves set at 5500 till 8300 now so time will tell. Suspension brilliant, no diving under braking and a lot more taught and precise. Actually feels like a larger modern bike now and the 36 pilots have sorted the stutter at light throttle. Hope it stays dry Steve

Finally back together after partial strip to get to the bottom of the rattle, solved now. Seemed a shame as the zeel had a shift output not to use it so made up another rev counter with a light in. Had a mark on the face but sorted with one of norbos decals and a pair of scissors Got the big rad on and fitted the 50 degree stat but not had a chance to try it out although before It came off the road again I adjusted the pv opening and got back the mid range. Also swapped the alloy cans for carbon, as has been said, once you put one bit on it's addictive. Just waiting for the RZR import painted tank to come back and it's getting nowt else spent on it. Never realised I never added the dyno result to the thread.
73 rwhp but running lean.
Wife is away this weekend so will get my finger out and sort it. Need to do the following.
Up main jets 2 sizes fit new reed spacers fit v force 4 reeds replace cracked clutch window fit steering damper fit twin horns
That's all if the weather ain't good. Other wise the Fazer and the TS are getting it.
Never got round to fitting the billet clutch basket as had another case to get powder coated which ain't done yet. Also don't like re using seals and I had just fitted a Gen water pump seal which ain't cheap. Will maybe leave till end of the year when it will get a top end strip and billet valves fitted.

Just re read your thread, here is a link to a bike I started a few years ago, some similaritys. This same bike now has Kenny TSA Stainless pipes and is about to get some PWKs, are you running the KR1 N68x needles or have you gone the JJh route. PS nice bike you have there but I am amazed you are running cool enough temps with the standard RAD capacity, spose it's cool enough over your way. i1263.photobucket.com/albums/ii631/seahorse41/DSCF1792.jpg

Cool build just read whole thread, very nice build up. Regarding the tank/body work/paint, I just bought an import with same style markings on tank but need decals for body work. I know its a long shot but would you know where I could find decals for the body work? Pic of my stocker import.

They had them on file so should have the other ones to match. I had them make me a set of Lc2 decals that had black instead of the blue but sold the panels along with the tank. The set on mine are a combination of canadian 31k decals and a hand cut black pinstripe ( canadian is navy blue ) but I have new side panels and another tail that I was going to fit N1 decals too at some point. Oh yes, definitely never selling, well not until I give up biking maybe. Frame was from the bike I bought after passing my test 25 years ago. Had forgot the imports were not black striped. Fork work was all done by Maxton, adjusters were only an extra £80 but it is not cheap when you add the re spring and re valve to suit me and the bike along with all bushes/seals and a NOS stanchion as 1 had a slight mark. Amazing difference though. Steve

Absolutely cracking job there steve. What size tyres are you running on ? I think I have the same rev running gear as you and would be good to know what people are running. Thanks Olly

Steve did you get this back on the dyno in the end mate? Not yet kenny. Fitted the V4's and went up 2 sizes on the main at the end of the summer. Took it out and has a major surge at 8k which the clutch can't take so just slips so put it away for the winter. Got a billet basket, all new bushes and FZ plates to go in it as soon as it gets out it's bag. Toying with the idea of taking it down to muttsnutts to mess with fueling and ignition Steve

Done some mods/additions for 2014 so thought I better update the thread. Fitted the Mitaka basket, XS 750 plates, new gen springs and all bushes/thrust washers replaced. Even fitted a new idler gear while I was in there and took the chance to get the case powder coated as the paint had blistered at an edge. Took off the pattern N1 style indicators and fitted new Gen Yam Lc2 ones (ouch) Then eventually got round to fitting twin horns, Gen horns and new Lc2 brackets. Even a cheaky Lc carbon horn cover Then some NOS switchgear, LH from and XS to get the handlebar choke Got a billet brake lever for the Fazer Master cylinder and managed to get the clutch one to fit a NOS perch with stainless pivot bolt Then spondon440 off here sorted me with some yokes Carbon frame infills next Also wanted a more accurate temperature reading so got a fitting made to get it in the top hose And fitted And a Koso temp gauge Yokes look amazing Bodywork on the bike was done with hand cut vinyl which was not lacquered so got a set on new repro side panels from 14cheeks and found a NOS tail unit to get painted and decalled to suit the bike and show the engine size Finished for this year........................ ......................Maybe Steve
