The club has a new membership secretary who deals with the renewals, I'm sure you will receive your details soon with the next edition of "Poweband Crazy"

i had this too - paid my years subs waited ages then chased with an email. Got my mag finally but had to collect it from the post office as there was insufficent postage on it (this was earlier in the year) i've had nothing since, but to be honest everything i originally wanted from the LC Club i've found with this forum (which is free).
I wont be renewing.

Genuine naivety here, and a sceptically free question. What benefits do you receive from the LC club for the payment? I'm still very new to planet LC.

I also payed my membership in October - first time in joining. Didnt hear anything, so sent an e-mail a couple of weeks later and got a reply to say they had received my money (Paypal). Again a few more weeks passed and still didnt receive any further notifications. So I emailed again. This time got a response saying membership will be with the first club magazine. And that was that, haven't heard anything since. The least I was expecting was a confirmation / welcome e-mail to advise how the membership process worked. As a new member !! I dont actually know when I will get the first magazine ?? Bit dissapointed with it all to be honest, payed £16 two months ago and no better off. All it needs is some-one from the LC Club to explain how the membership process works & that would be fine - especially to new members who are still in the dark about it all.

I've said it before in another post. Norbo should charge a tenner a year subscription for this forum. Im sure we all appreciate this site, its members with their invaluable knowledge and skills. Perhaps norbs should add a "Donations" button for those that feel they want to donate He could maybe put some of the funds to site costs and some towards the yearly bar b q which is a great event and which costs norbo out of his own pocket which must cost quite a bit Those that have attended will know what im talking about

Sorry gents i will try and help explain what has been happening with regards the LC club and memberships. at the end of September Weaver who has for the last few years has handled everything from memberships to the show entries decided he wanted to spend some of his spare time with his family and not all on the LC club business. As per usual we had a large influx of people wanting to help out ( sarcasm is not my strong point) so greenlandy on here volunteered and took over the memberships. As a way of saving the club some money we took the decision that we would post the membership cards out with the club magazine which is written published 4 times a year by myself. now this is where the problem has happened I was close to finishing the autumn edition when my PC threw a hissy fit culminating with the complete loss of my motherboard and hard drive I've re-written the complete edition and i have now got it back from the printers, this weekend i shall get all the mags in the envelopes with the membership cards and posted out. Again I apologies for any problems which this may have caused in relation to insurance and other discounts but we both are trying our best to make the change over as painless as possible which isn't easy while working on average a 60+ hour week running my business and a young family. Now where did i put my violin

Paul we used to put all the back copies of the mag we had into the first delivery you got but that has now stopped as we have ran out of back copies apart from a few that we keep to show perspective members at the shows, we also had an issue with the post office when they changed the method of working out the postal charges which is why some people have said that they have had to pay to get their mags. I can personally say that anyone who gets charged for the mags now is being ripped off as i check with every edition that it will be covered by the price of a second class stamp. we are not being tight, if i tell you that we spend over £450 on postage costs alone just for the mag to be sent out. As for savings I have just renewed my insurance with footman james with a guaranteed values on both my 4l0's my original company wanted £380 on the web FJ came in at £230 so i rang them and mentioned the club and it came in at £159 with unlimited mileage and European cover and legal cover etc. there is also a discount from Fowlers of Bristol on your parts but they will need a photocopy of your membership card before you get discount which I agree is a pain in the backside. If anyone on here who has renewed and needs their membership number for discounts you can PM me but please be patient as i will need to contact the membership secretary to try and get it but he may not of got it from the p.o box and he too works silly hours. thanks again Laurence

Hi Elsie1411, Thanks for the posting. At least we all know what is happening now, so much appreciated. As a new member, didnt really have much to go on, or any previous process to compare it against. Once again, many thanks for putting me in the picture.
