Does this happen every August at the same venue ? If so, I'll keep an eye out for next years date & trundle doon on ma bike from Bonnie Scotland. ( If it doesn't clash with the SATT 2T trackday at Cadwell, that is ! ).

Hi Wullie our annual ride to Oban on 18-19 September. We travel A68, Edinborough ringroad A8 then A9 to Stirling services where we have about an hour break. You could meet us there or get in touch with Martin Bell 07834751413 (away till friday) and he`llgive you hotel details and you can ride up to Oban and stop the night and come back Sunday. Love your 3XV, Rob from our club has a Rossi Camel rep if he`s going you could have a bit of a do.

Bugger !! I've got an Aunt & Uncles Ruby wedding anniversary party on the night of the 18th & have already RSVP'ed that we're going ! Could still meet up at Stirling services for a blether if your all there for early - mid afternoon. That's a very tidy lookin' 3XV above. How long's Rob had it ? Apart from the Nikon exhausts, has it been "tuned" at all ? ( Sorry for slow response, been working away from home the last 3 days ).

Sorry to take so long to reply, been trying to get some answers but people are away. We normally get to Stirling services around 1pm - 2 will confirm this later. Robs 3XV wouldn`t run properly with the Nikons so he`s running something else, not sure of the state of tune (Will let you know) but I think they changed the speedo drive to fool the electronics.

Robs 3XV wouldn`t run properly with the Nikons so he`s running something else, not sure of the state of tune (Will let you know) but I think they changed the speedo drive to fool the electronics. That's unusual ! ? As I've helped to confirm on the TZR forum, ( tzr250.com/index ), Nikons are just lightweight copies of the stock pipes ! Mine's virtually stock, ( stock airboxes, carbs, reeds & CDI, but with a homemade +4 degree timing advance key fitted to the crank ), but has been ported to "not quite SP" spec. by Martin77 Johnson, with a set of his homemade spannies fitted to match, & is as flexible / driveable as a stock bike from 2,500 - 3,000 rpm. In 6th, with slightly higher ( than stock ) 15 / 39 final gearing, she pulls hard to an indicated 12,800 rpm ! ( 12,000 true rpm ). I dismantled the speedo on mine & trimmed off a chunk of the sensor tab that triggers the speed restriction at 180 Kmh. It's cheaper than a Kmh / Mph "in-line" convertor. My Aunt & Uncle's "Do" isn't 'till the Sat. evening, so could trundle along to Stirling Services for a bit. ( If the weathers not crap ! ). Is Rob planning to come on the run ? He could have a go on mine to see how a ported 3XV RS goes like.
