Record turn out this year.
I think at least 35 on a good mix of classic two strokes.
14 Aircooled RDs, a good few LCs, 1 x X7 a couple of fizzys and a couple of moderns.
Furthest miles covered must of been Gazzartt2 on his RD400E (350 miles)
Thanks for turning up everyone.
We had a shower that lasted about 1 hour in the middle of the day, just enough to make the bike really dirty.
Thanks to Colin and the Isle of Wight lads for looking after us.
It must of been a nightmare to keep us together with all that traffic and more than 35 of us.
We were in two groups at one point.
The day would not be the same with out you chaps.
Some arrived at my house at about 7am
Saddler was riding Project X for the day.
Then it was a short ride to the Rownhams services to meet the others.
Gazzatt2
Then a few mile ride to Red Funnel ferry terminal where we met several others.
Boat started loading at 08.30
Passed a few Cruise ships while crossing the Solent.
1 hour to get to the Island on the ferry so time for some food.
Then Colin and his tribe of corkheads were waiting for us in East Cowes along with Norbo and his young son Kade who was on holiday there and he had is RD350LC.
And then were off for a lap of the island
A quick fuel stop.
This weekend is the biggest scooter rally in the world and it had to be the day we were there.
Saddler was thinking of fighting them but there were at least 5000 of them and about 35 of us so we decided to let them go.
I was still up for it but the others bottled it. ;D
Project X
Norbo and Kade
Waiting for the others to get fuel.
And these rode past.
Not all scooter riders are bad.
Colin the corkhead on project X
A quick cuppa stop
Who is this???
Time for Dinner inthe Griffin pub at Godshill.
Colin the corkhead our guide.
(I just had a salad )
Then carry on the to the Military road and the other side of the Island
Then this big cloud arrived.
Bloody project X gets everywhere
Ice cream stop
Then it pissed down just as were about to hit the best road on the island.
We then headed through the centre of the island to West cowes to catch the chain ferry to East cowes.
I know its is sad Dave but we had to go home somewhen.
Dont cry.
That takes us to East Cowes where we got out Red Funnel ferry back to Southampton.
Waiting for the ferry.
Norbos lovely RD350LC
Ferry loaded and ready to go..
Another P & O cruise ship (Aurora)
