Its only the outlaw and the drag one with the built in neck piece that are illegal, just been researching, there illegal for road use as they are only designed to be worn inside a car with a neck brace/padding collar on, the back of the helmet is higher than a bike one to allow for the neck pad. If this is worn on a motorcycle and you come off even with the chin strap done up the helmet will pivot off the head, taking your nose with it! Sole reason there not for road use! Anyone wearing these , be very very carefull!!

But the new bandit and super Bandit are purely designed for motorcycle road use so they will protect them, the old ones like you had back in the day were designed for cash use, hence the no spill protection side of it!
Ive got a roof and im very unimpressed with the built quality, the liner inside is coming away and the top two vents are split where the screws where done to tight in the factory,The padding had already lost its spongyness and doesnt grip my cheeks properly any more, the visor turns without the sides turning some times too and yep i do look after it its not like i mess treat it! I do love the shape though but doubt ill own another one.
I might just have a poor old one though but put me off them
