At last, I’ve been dying to start putting the “money pit” back together and now I’ve finally started. I recon the assembly is the most exciting bit. I’ve still got a long way to go but hear are a few pics so far. fingers crossed I don't damage any more bits along the way. Attachments:

Yer, can't believe I got away with that one. She did mention it but space is so tight in the garage and it was very clean so she let me leave it in the spare room. I've even managed to use half the kitchen table for all the items that I'ved sprayed. ;D

Yer I owe her big time - she says I have to give her plenty of massages Colour will be red and white and i should have gone and picked up the bodywork this week but have been too busy. Turned the ignition on for the first time today and the neutral light came on very dim and then went out. Turned off and on again and nothing - main fuse had blown. 5 min investigation and the problem turned out to be my own doing - seems I had pinched a wire on the switch gear. ;D All sorted now and everything is working. Just waiting for the powervalve coupler to turn up in the post, I have a feeling i might be waiting a long time as it was apparently sent on the 21/6 but I'm still waiting. Here are a few more pics in meantime.

Just finished the front end. Had a bit of a panic when bleeding the brakes as I didn't know there was some sort of blockage with the bleeding kit I was using and it forced brake fluid out of the bleed nipple. Luckerly I managed to catch it and clean it up without any damage to the paintwork.

To all those eagle eyed spotters out there - yes I know I have my spindle on the wrong side. I'll sort that out later when the tyre is replaced.

Thanks Norbo - Wish I had the money to change all the other small details. The above pics show that I need to replace the tacho drive cable and clutch cable but to be fair it's only the plating that really needs doing - just can't afford it at the moment. the worse thing is as I'm finishing this project my eye is already looking for the next one. I feel like a kid looking in the bike shop window wishing I could buy one.

Had them stripped then vapour blasted. Zinc plated all the carb screws and bits in yellow. The hardest bit was trying to find someone local to me to get the carbs done as I wasn't keen on posting them. The Chap who did the vapour blasting also has old bikes so he was very carefull and gave them a thorough clean afterwards. He did them while I waited so that was a bonus.

The greenish finish is the closest I've come so far to Olive drab. Its a real mission trying to find a decent firm near me to do the work. A lot of cursing and hair pulling was involved as all the places that do olive drab are up north, in fact everything seems to always be up north. . I've also found that the olive colour will differ from plater to plater, the 1st place I tried made them look all iridescent with a purple hue, it was horrid plus a lot of them have a minimum order charge. The chap I go to now is really helpful and reasonable with his prices. I want to try to get them a little darker next time so I'll see if they can plate them black and then add the olive drab passivate afterwards but I'm not sure if that's possible.
