Its a fine line to tread, I personally get annoyed when in any shop, and I'm browsing, I get very annoyed when members of staff keep coming up and pestering me to see if I need help, if I do I ask, and I have at times just walked out when it got on my nerves, so it works the other way too, and it needs good staff training to identify when to help, and when to wait till being asked for help. +1 fine line nothing worse than over attentive staff with less knowledge than you about products there selling Carl

Nah Get a scrap ypvs frame with a v5, stamp the number on the headstock then cut up the ypvs frame😁 Amazing what you could do in the 80's I have a mate with a Harris magnum and it is simply registered as a z1 Steve It did pass my mind [br Go for it,happens all the time in the custom world Carl

I can't see the point in doing this TBH?? unless there is some sort of fancy clutch inside the casing to put on show with loads of other mods to go with the bike. Oh well every one to there own Clutch adjustment, spring swop.using solid cover in stead of window on mine Carl

I'm still looking at options here, the 125 unit is worth a try ad the bits are so cheap, I like the idea of a "Yamaha" unit but still may go down Koso or R1 units yet. Phil If you go with the koso idea send me a pm I got the bits you need(Foc) Carl

I've never owned a Yamaha 50, did have a go on a mate's fizzy, now that was quick, 50mph. He got a monday bike I think. After another chat with Mark an 80cc engine is going to be used, so outwardly it will look like an RD50 but with more oomph. She'll need a trick exhaust too so I'm on the look out... So today was examine the rusty parts that have been sitting in a bucket of vinegar for about a week. This is what the sprocket looked like... www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=56733.0;attach=79427;imageRinse under the tap and... www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=56733.0;attach=79429;imageWhat a difference! Bit of a sand down and paint and that will be fine. The wheels are sans tyres now and are at the shot blasters. Then the front caliper joined in the 'I'm not budging' game but swearing and brute force won the day. www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=56733.0;attach=79431;imageI am having a problem with the rear shock pins, heat, WD, heat, foul language. Nope. They are not moving! www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=56733.0;attach=79433;imageI've put a bid on some Mito USD forks, there are two swing arms on eBay with a BIN price so I will eventually. Then do I go for the standard tank and seat or something a bit more 'custom'? And she'll go GI Jane, no side panels, run on premix...or a little oil tank under the seat maybe...decisions decisions lol. Alex Might have to make top shock mount with mito arm as shock offset Carl

Sounds a great project! :-) Perhaps get a scrap frame with V5 and build your frame on the headstock from that...... ;-) I believe a lot of custom choppers used to be built this way.... Still do especially Harley’s Sportster v5 + headstock £1200+ So lots are Yamadavidson,Hondadavidson, etc Carl

I'm wondering if there's a filter with twin inlet & outlet stubs? That could be placed closer to the tank and if it did get blocked, both cylinders would stop firing, preventing the possibility of the other one seizing?? Check out pingle fuel filters they have what You need but expensive Carl
