Hi, I am ready to fit the rear wheel onto my 250 LC resto and cannot find the sprocket side outer spacer on the rear wheel spindle (item No. 45 on the rear wheel fiche (90387-156A8)).
Does anybody know the dimensions so I can make one as they are NLA??
Cheers

I have a set of early 350 LC barrels and am thinking of fitting them to a 250 bottom end. I have later 350 carbs (marked 01) that I will also use.
What is the difference in the barrels in terms of performance and why did they change them?
Will the later carbs work OK.
I know I will need a 350 oil pump and engine sprocket etc.. but everything else should be the same??
Cheers

Hi, I believe that the water flows into the rad at the bottom and out of the top of the rad and then into the top of the engine (cylinder head)and out of the hose at the back of the cylinders.

Cheers will try that and see if it gets any more movement.
Note - saw the 140mm air gap statement on the box but it did not say without spring and stanchion compressed.
Thanks

Hi, just fitted some Hagon fork springs to my 350LC, and filled the legs with 10w fork oil to 195mm below the top of the stanchion.
Forks are now very stiff and only move circa 50mm.
I have not ridden the bike but I thought they would have had a bit more movement?
Can anyone who has Hagon springs fitted tell me if this sounds OK?
Cheers

What are the best options when upgrading stock 250LC forks for a bigger diameter, better damped set. Not interested in upgrading the OEM forks.
I guess major factors would be yoke stem diameter/length, availability, overall length cost etc...
Not concerned about reworking yokes etc to fit.
Apols if covered off before on a previous post, thought I would gather latest thinking/thoughts
Cheers

Super slaks or Diesel for me. After that it usually involves some heat to prevent snapped bolts/studs.

I would suggest you talk to Grampian motors in Liverpool. They stock all Mitaka pistons and also can advise on the use of alternative pistons if you need a piston size that is bigger than the standard sizes available for your model (if that makes sense).

I guess you are talking brake caliper piston??. You can use compressed air where the banjo bolt is fitted or fit the master cylinder, bleed it and use hydraulic pressure pump it out

Cheers for the reply, I guess that the pins just pull out of the block when you apply the tool?
Is it obvious which one I need to use?

Hi, I have bought a new rubber grommet from Norbo for the alternator wiring as it comes through the crankcases. Hole in the grommet looks a little small to get the connectors through so I guess I need to remove the wiring from the connector and then pass through the sleeve. I have tried to get the wires and pins out of the connector but have had no success??
Any advice welcome
Cheers

I have recently been through this on my 350LC resto. Decided to renew all brgs in the g/box and looked everywhere for oem standard alternatives. Had no success, ended up buying the two small needle roller brgs and the clutch brg from Yamaha. The sprocket brg is readily available from any bearing supplier.

As stated I will post pics when I get it home. Intend to do most of the refurb myself where practicable.
I am optimistic I can get a good looking bike on the road at a reasonable cost. I also love a challenge.
Time will tell whether it was a good buy or not.

Body work is OK. Will need some repairs, but I am sure everything will turn out OK.
When I get her home I will post some pics and provide a report on the state of the engine.
The way I see it, the bike must be worth at least £6000 when restored and so I have over £3000 to put into it before I see a loss.

Aluminium framed RZ 500 from Japan. (V4 500cc)
No pics I'm afraid.
I think RZ500 is the correct description. Not sure what a RZV is??

Gents, I bought the shabby RZ500, got it for a bit less than less than £3000. If it is totally screwed, reckon I can get my money back (and more) by breaking it. Will let you know how i get on with it.

Connector from Yambits looks to be the right part, only £4 so will be able to take back to original.
Just hope it does not melt again

Had a look on ebay and found a genuine AMP 3 way connector for a couple of quid. Do you know which crimping tool I should be looking for?

Had a quick look at the connectors, they look to be a neat solution. Do I need to use a special crimping tool?
