jonw was assuming that the painting and other jobs hadn't been done because of time and money and i was pointing out the reason was the time and not the money as i had mentioned in the Ebay listing. Ahh my apologies then, I misunderstood. Now it makes sense. No worries, it was just a misunderstanding I hope you found the opinions you were asking for interesting.

Hi jonw Yes it's mine. You still haven't answered my question on what price it should be now so how can our views differ? I have no interest in the market in Australia, i am in the UK and the bike is in the UK and i am selling it in the UK. If you had read the listing correctly then you would know it has nothing to do with money,it's purely time. It will be a lovely bike when finished it's not a lashed up 500 project bike like some that are being done. I'll step away to keep things peaceful. The buyer when they come along will tell us both if youve priced it right. Goodbye

If you had read the listing correctly then you would know it has nothing to do with money,it's purely time. It's your bike, your prerogative, you can put it up for a million quid if you want, but putting it up for huge money and then claiming it's not about the money is a bit incongruous. jonw was assuming that the painting and other jobs hadn't been done because of time and money and i was pointing out the reason was the time and not the money as i had mentioned in the Ebay listing.

I guess if it's yours (which i assume it must be?) then you can ask what you like of course, it just seems a vast amount of money for a 500 thats not finished yet even in this market. Painting and doing the last bits takes both time and money which I assume is why that's not been done that yet. I do believe that this will be a lovely bike when its finished for sure and I know there are a lot of nos (and not cheap) parts in with the deal and that the markets are different but here in Aus £20k (Au$40k) would buy you a very low mileage bike with £5000+ change and it would be ready to go. I guess if you can sell it for 20k then all power to you, but i think thats all its money even when complete. I guess our views differ on this. Hi jonw Yes it's mine. The bearing issue is the cut for the locating shim, its right over where the race runs and when old and heated it can crack. I dont think there is a better version out there, you just need to catch it before it fails etc.

that Scud looks top of the range , alloys , vinyl roof , and a boot spoiler (makes it easier to push) Looks like it's got a heated rear window, that will keep you hands warm when pushing it

fzr1000 forks use the same ones, I bought a set of forks just for the anti-dive units once, still got the forks here, reminds me I need to get rid of them, in lovely condition as well ! Only the 47X pre-production bikes used the FJ/FZ anti dive units, here is a nos set i used on my 47X pre-production bike. Production bikes anti dives were unique to the rd/rz/rzv500 The caps which were made years a go were copies of the smaller FJ/FZ anti dive cap.

Around 150 bikes were painted by Dream Machine for Mitsui, all these bikes were unsold German stock apart from Mitsui's two pre-production bikes. This is how the original bikes were painted. If you want to check if you have an original Marlboro bike then contact me and i will check my database

People have been saying the same things about Vincent's for years, when all the old boys are dead who will want one?
Well when is the last time you saw a cheap Vincent for sale?
The RD500LC is an iconic bike, the first of it's kind.
While Banks are giving a token interest rate for savings these bikes are only going up in value.

Thanks for your imputs ! I through it was Australian since there is the 250cc version which had never been sold to Canada and the fact that I have seen RZ250/350F only on the '86 Australian brochure: Thank you Steve for the picture. Does your brochure ref start by LIT-3MC-0105xxx ? (All my Australian brochure start by LIT-3MC-0105xxx) OzHammer, could you send me a picture of your rare compliance plate ? Here is an extract from the '85 full line-up from Australia I think: Xavier Yes that is 1985, this is the 1984 Australian line up...................
