The Tz750 outfit is Conrad Harrison’s deans dad. He is a proper old school racer. Had a good chat with him. Sounded good but not as loud as mine? Lots more strokers. Quite a few lc’s over here this year. Not many Pv’s. Not seen a single Rg250 or 500 seen one Ns400r.

Mirrors not required for an MOT. Neither are indicators but if you have an indicator switch plod get interested. As I once found out. Alex I guess you’re generalising? Yes, if fitted they must work. So I guess it’s logical if any part of it is fitted (like the switch) it must work. However from 01/08/86 indicators are mandatory. So a late model YPVS for example needs them. I have an 1989 4CE, and would have liked to have left the indicators off but can’t. Conversely I have a 1980 LC which I think needs them for the classic look. Jon

That’s it for another year. I’ll be back I’d recommend those that haven’t been to make the effort those that have but not for a while reacquaint yourselves. In a elf n safety mad world it’s always a breath of fresh air.

I’ve also learnt a lot about the bike. It’s going to have a set of Dave’s pipes whilst it is very rideable in its current form I’d like a nice shiny set that are designed for the porting, that will then mean the full potential of the motor can be liberated. Which will mean an upgraded clutch. The fuel economy is not brilliant at about 22 mpg. The oil consumption is about 1 lt per 180 miles. The anti dive works but I need to look at a slight judder from the front end. Not sure if it is bearings or the disc. I need to change the master cylinder for an adjustable span one as it is all or nothing and it brakes at first touch. It’s lost a few bits due to vibration that I hadn’t lock wired and nearly lost the left hand rear sets. The triumph side stand needs altering as it rises to high and interferes with the gear change I adjusted it but I need to alter that. Other than that it has been reliable, fun and I’ve loved riding a bike i pretty much built myself.

Thanks John I haven’t posted half the pics I’ve taken and unfortunately can’t post the videos from my digs on Ago’s. I’ve been going for a fair few years and I always enjoy it. I cannot recommend it enough. 👍

It’s great. It’s just old farts talking bollox about old bikes over a cold pint of Guinness whilst some top names go screaming past flat out on some gorgeous and often near priceless bikes. Alex I’ll let you know when we are going to book. 👍

Its fianlly all over for another year, I got home early yesterday due to one team member in hosdpital, so drove lorry back as I was supposed to return Saturday night It been a rollercoasted of an event, but loved it. Its a great event, its a shame the schedule has been changed last few years as its now crammed into a long weekend, which I feel is a mistake but thats just my opinion. I thought that there wasnt as many people here this year I didnt get out of the Paddock much however I have taken lots of photos and a few videos. I will sort though them over the next few days and post onto a flickr page and then post the link. I saw this beauty at "Talk of the Town" Douglas never seen one of these before For those going to the TT 2024 not long to wait now some great news, our driver looks like he will be discharged from Nobles Hospital on Saturday "fingers crossed" after a very close call with (e coli) [/div] Best regards Johnny C.

Hi Johnny Thought I’d WhatsApp you but can’t see it. I’m glad you’re back and glad your driver is ok. Is he back on his feet yet? Definitely agree re numbers it got busier after Wednesday but considering it was 100th anniversary I thought it was a little quiet and not enough engagement from you know who to celebrate it. Hope you got your night out 👍. Our digs weren’t as busy as previous years sadly. McPint hillier etc came down as usual to the digs to spectate one afternoon and they were all saying exactly the same thing about it to little time over to short a period etc I’ll be back as normal next year. Have a good one and great to meet you finally. Tim

Just the missus as she doesn’t appreciate your two stroke god like ability. She doesn’t understand your nimble fingered knowledge of ports or your finely tuned ear for a duff plug. All she understands is the fact you’re forever in that f***ing workshop 👍

As per previous post I have been sorting through photos and a few videos and finally got round to loading them on to Flickr album Obviously these are mainly in and around the paddock, Parc Ferme and start area, but might be of some interest. so hope they dont bore you too much.
Best regards Johnny C

Johnny some brilliant pics there. 👍 Alex it will totally blow your mind when you are in the paddock or watching the racing. I’m always a little complacent when o return until the first practice then you remember as a chill goes down your spine as the first bike goes past at 100 and plenty on its back wheel 3 feet from where you stand. 👍
