Hi all,
I’d sort of planned to use Bob the seat for my special, but I hear he’s been unwell.
Who are others using these days?

That's my problem too, frightened to send him a message
I've used Roger Dennis many years ago and Tony Archer and they were both good
I'm going to try and cover one myself hence why I bought an air stapler
Time will tell 😬

Hi Steve, I’ve covered a standard LC seat before, and was pleased with the result. However this is a shortened F2 seat base for a single seat. I want a pad on the vertical bit as well, so beyond my skills to do it comfortably (sic).

The only seat seat I have ever covered was an F2
Only issue was the crap staple gun I was using but turned out well
One flat bit of vinyl stretched over it fine

Don’t shoot me it’s a hybrid. But sort of wondered whether black suede would suit?
Thinking of doing the frame satin powdercoat, so thought it might match?

Just be aware that Alcantara will wear. It can bobble up and go shiny where the flock rubs off if you abrade it over time. It also gathers dirt and it fades in the sun... and most of them dont like water much.
Im not saying 'dont use it', just be aware its not a wonderful material. I see guys retrim steering wheels in it to ape the modern racey supercar specs... they look awful after 6 months of sweaty hands :/ Its designed for grip in race cars, not looking good for the life of the car etc.
Re upholstery, to be honest with some time invested in some youtube vids you can do quite a good job on a custom seat yourself and no experience is really needed to fit a seat cover. I did my first one as a yoof with no idea and it came out fine. not saying you shouldnt use a pro and anything with stitching needing I would go that route, but they are not always needed.

I had to re-cover the seat on my CG a couple of weeks back . I got the stuff off these - www.motorcycleseatcovers.co.uk/Nice quality vinyl and reasonable enough on the price .

Roger Dennis did my KE 125 seat and it looked better than a new one. Makes his own covers and even put the White Kawasaki on the rear in the correct font. Said it would be around 3 weeks but turned into three months due to having to wait for parts to come back from chrome platers. I would use him again without hesitation.
Another is Acorn Upholstery.

Viking, in Kent. Very good and been using them for years Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I went with Viking seats as suggested above as they were close. Was a bit of a spur of the moment decision. I was off this afternoon and gave them a ring. Dropped it off last minute. Fingers crossed now it looks OK? I’ll let you know in 2-3 weeks. Jon

Still not sure if I made the right decision with quilted brown leather and tassels? Jon You'd really need a pair of those "leathers" with the laces up the outside leg to complement that style Jon .

Here's my seat pad covered in Alcantara and with the embroidered Ducati logo from my Ducati 748SPS. It looks nice but if I started using it too much then it probably would turn out like some of the comments above. flic.kr/p/2oPjV3C

Vaughan Green does excellent work, he re-covered the MT350 seats to an incredibly high standard. His prices are reasonable and the turnaround time is incredible,I dropped both seats in to him on Tuesday evening and collected them Friday afternoon of the same week! www.customclassicretrotrim.co.uk

I used to use a guy in Hartlepool RD designs don't know if he's still on the go, did both my 500s and the RD400which was a guilari base and he stencilled the gold YAMAHA on the back of it! Did a lot of custom bikes I recall

Bit late for the show but Dclass automotive in Chobham are 10/10, they did my Dresda single seat in suede with a silver cross stitch and it came out mint. £385 a few years ago. Mat
