Looks like a great place to start, the forks don't look like VJ22 to me, no wasted machining between the yokes, the caps aren't machined where the dust seals go (M model are removeable but N onwards weren't), the bottoms are deffo 22/Gsxr400. Are the headlight ears made of MDF? Andy.

Andy you know more than me about Rgvs
I just thought the sliders were different on the Sp ๐they feel good though ๐ and yes the ears are Mdf ๐๐

Ha ha, bit of an Rgv anorak i'm afraid, if the forks feel good then that's great, but Rgv forks are 50/52mm and if the diameter is the same all the way up you'll need to account for this if changing the top yoke, you'd be best off modding the top yoke you've got to save the hassle, feel like i'm preaching to one of the Gods here! Andy.

Lol, I know the gsxr400 forks havenโt got the waisted section, I have got a set of vj22 forks in there normal guise
I think Iโve had some gsxr750 forks that had similar sliders ๐ค
As they say, every days a school day,,, luckily they only need a spruce up ๐

Great project, some super parts there already. I quite like the tail and the passenger footrests make it look 10 years newer than it is. What are they bolted to?
Forks: I agree the forks are probably off something bigger (750?) and not SP, some of the bigger bikes had the adjusters that the RGV in most guises didnt get.

Weird thing is they were also mounted underneath ๐ฅด If you look at the top pic you can see the mount under the center stand bracket Iโm putting lomas pipes on it now so Iโll mount them better ๐ Matt ๐ป

Extra mounts because of the spring mounting on the end cans, they'd rattle without the support, bolt/flange mounted much better. Andy.

My RS pipes hang out quite happily and you can see the mount bracket. They are SS and pretty well put together - the JL pipes will be lovely & had a set on my 500. IMG_6769 by KTM Marky, on Flickr
