Spent the day fighting my way around West London, collecting Blood, Stool and Urine samples from umpteen different Doctors surgeries, mostly around Hounslow If you've never been to Hounslow, "you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany" !! George Lucas visited once and based Mos Eisley space port in Star Wars on his Hounslow experience It also feels like being an extra in "DeathRace 2000" ! And for for a tad above minimum wage ! Living the (bad) dream Dusty

Big shock to the system as grew up and was still living on a farm Felt like back end of Calcutta with the shops still dealing in rupees and that curry smell that just hung in the air Never again

Used to go on the way back home from a very late night out in London. You could swing past and pick up samosas from an all night shop for an early 'breakfast at work' on the way back to Swindon. Who cares that you had yesterday's clothes on still! Breakfast of kings... LOL! IT in the 90s... seems like a different planet to today haha.

Bit more scenic today. Start at Ashford, then Heston, Hounslow, Whitton, Teddington, then through Twickenham to West Middlesex Hospital A and E, which always feels like a disaster movie is being filmed there and you are part of it !!, then out to Brentford, Chiswick, then across Kew Bridge and out to Richmond, then up to Chalkers Corner and skirt Mortlake on way to Sheen, then out through Richmond to Ham, cut through Kingston on the way back to Teddington, then Hounslow, Feltham, Bedfont and finish at Ashford. Only wanted to kill 6 people today, so far !!🤬

Good day at work today
Faffed about this morning doing a few emails in amongst little jobs like removing seals from calipers
Then decided at 10.30 I'd be better halving a coffee while the car was defrosting
Dropped some parts off at a customer's
Went to McDonalds for lunch. Popped home for a pish
Dropped off said brake calipers for blasting
Went home after my hard days work 😁
Can you tell December is quiet 🤣

Needed my workbench today and it basically fell apart on me. It was about 40 years old so I'm surprised it lasted that long. Lass I'm working for checked her PC and a Black and Decker one is about £100. Yikes. Then spotted one at Homebase for £44. She even drove me there to get it! I really like 'working' for her, seems more like a relaxed day with a mate than anything else.
As for Hounslow Dusty...is it twinned with Birmingham by any chance as it bloody well sounds identical.

I'll be in Brentford around 11.30. The "Sunny Delight" mob will be out and about by then, so be careful. Last week I "enjoyed" the moment the Uber driver in the Merc Vito people carrier decided to do a 5 point turn on the brow of the railway bridge by Brentford station, in spite of all the traffic going each way !! You really couldn't make it up If I submitted the van camera footage from each day, the Met Police wouldn't have time for anything else ! Dusty

Brentford. Oh dear. The only redeeming value is that it's a few miles from Dusty and myself. And Mouse too I think. And Mark. And probably many others! Come over for a cuppa after work if you have the time.

Next to feck all ☹️
Got a hire car just now as mine is getting some paintwork done (cause that scratch on the rear arch is going to restrict the value at auction in a couple of months, not the 180k miles on it or the million other chips and scratches on it)
Crappie Vauxhall Crossland. Was heading to Inverness to program a piece of equipment one of our engineers was installing
Got as far as Pitlochry before being told the job was cancelled
Did a small service check in Pitlochry then headed for home
Got as far as Perth before the slight stutter the car had accelerating turned into a misfire, engine management light came on, car died on its arse
Luckily made it to a layby. Switched off, back on and it starts again
Decide to try and nurse it home. Did it another twice but made it home, phew
The next bit really pissed me off. Apparently Enterprise say I have to call the AA, wait for them, they diagnose the problem, they go away for parts and return to fit them
That took 4 hours. They will only try and arrange a replacement if the AA can't fix it and take it to a garage
Shitty customer service I think
Apparently a cracked spark plug although no fault code on car and no test drive to check its OK 🤔
I'll find out tomorrow 😬
Oh and Apparently the spark plugs were £40...
Each 😱

Vauxhalls...
A few years ago my next door neighbours son passed his car test and asked me for advice on what car to buy. I suggested anything small and Japanese as it'll be reliable, cheap on fuel and cheap(ish) insurance. He wanted a Vauxhall Corsa and I said don't as the head gasket will blow. 2 months into his Corsa ownership I saw him driving up the road with steam poring out of the bonnet. Yep, you've guessed it...
His next car was a Toyota. Had it for 3 years and sold it at a profit.
