I used to inspect a crane in a paper mill, 140 deg f , massive humidity, 150ft high. We were only allowed to do 15 minutes then down for 45. Overalls, high viz, hard hat, safety harness. All clothing was soaking with sweat, really unpleasant job.😡 I used to look after the cranes in a Steel Mill Chris, and then in a Steel plant, god knows what the temps were in there,, bloody boiling comes to mind 😂 I might have been your friendly insurance inspector 😃

SCOTTISH UPDATE DAY 2
It's terrible, there isn't many of us left, bodies everywhere 😱
Saw a guy who had been out in the sun too long in his string vest, looked like he had been cooked on a griddle
All the gingers have vapourised, the fatties have melted and left a slushy mixture of fat and sweat
It ran like a lava flow onto the M8 and caused major incidents all the way from Glasgow to Edinburgh
Stay away, it's like a war zone up here 😆

Turn off the idiot box (TV) turn off the wireless (thats the radio) and hey presto, a nice hot summers day... no more no less. I have been out for a walk, and spent a couple of hours in the green house and poly tunnel. Also been at our apiary for 3hrs in the early morning with full bee suit on. Keep calm (or just ignore the prophets of doom) and drink tea, chia, lemonade, water, or even piss if your names Grylls "They" will soon be reporting unprecedented rainfall and flooding and deadly cold (Somerset levels flooding, although their name does give some idea to the geography involved, and the beast from the east Mk2...) MSM love it, it fits their angle, doom gloom ect...it's Brexits fault. F*** em! Checked on the old folks today, all ok. Thats all that matters.... forgot about the old git in the mirror......nnnneeeeerrrrghhhh bugger him!! STOP PRESS........... We now have the Great Fire of London MK2. Quick bury your wine and cheese....................................

They were designed to work at 70°C ambient. The evaporators (cooling units) were inside the crane booms themselves and the condenser coils were on the walkway outside. We actually tested them in a temporary test chamber at 70°C despite most people who I worked with/for saying there was no way we could raise the temperature to that. The cooling was to stop the crane electrical components overheating and keep the crane operational.

Oh and we tested some trace heated dampers at -45°C. We hired a special container with a freezer unit fitted. I went in it to drill some holes. Surprisingly it was about ten minutes before my fingers started to feel it. Never bothered wearing anything other than my usual shirt and trousers. It was better to just go in and get out quickly. Made sure no one could shut me in 😁

All those fires, The fire brigade have never been so busy since WW2. All on the hottest day..... Now its amazing just how a couple of degrees can make such a difference to grass etc, which has been dry enough to burn for days if not weeks. Fits with the climate change warnings perfecly...in fact it fits very well, just like a packet of swan vestas fit in a trouser pocket. No investigating? No arrests? No discarded disposable BBQs? No bored school kids sent home and copycatting? Anyway...it's raining now..... should put them all out.....

No bored school kids sent home and copycatting? Anyway...it's raining now..... should put them all out..... The Fire Brigade has actually said that due to the number of fires they were not able to investigate them as they would usually do, just put it out and move on to the next one. I doubt there were many moe that the week before or indeed the week following those two days but if that's what you have decided to report on then that's what they'll do. Some things seem to increase at regular intervals but it's only the reporting of them that increases as they become more then less fashionable to report. For instance seven fatal dog attacks so far this year in the UK and July's not even over. Anyone heard this? Barely a whisper. Soon it will be "Dog Death Britain!" Depends when their turn comes around. My Mrs. asked what I was doing yesterday early evening when I started filling some watering cans. I said I was going to water some plants. I know that a few days ago they forecast thunderstorms and a lot of rain for Wednesday and on Monday it had been downgraded to a bit of rain at 9pm but guess what? I watered the plants and not a drop of rain, not even now, 6:30pm Thursday.
