The building of bikes whether "special" or not, has driven the prices up. So you could say that builders have contributed to the parts becoming more expensive.... and to satisfy their hobbies (or profits), they have been prepared to cough up an ever increasing amount dough. So its a catch22 situation. And most of all... No show without an audience! If no one was bothering with these bikes, the available spares would be scrap value..... Wise words. Especially the audience bit. Lots of cashed-up hangers-on out there who catch on to all sorts of fashions and drive the prices up. Same here in Australia, you should see the prices for SR500’s, XS650’s etc. alas they’ve slso caught onto the LC/YPVS scene too so they’re now unaffordable here - all that gets advertised is ludicroysly expensive junk or extremely expensive complete bikes. We know what it costs to restore one so the total going rate is right up there niw 😕

Covid tax . More of a hand out wage without having to go to work and all the expenses in doing so saved. Jeeezus if I got furloughed 25 yrs ago I would of saved the big petrol bills of a 400 miles plus commute (could of bought dozens of LCs with 6 months of that) Just wait till everything is reset...then taxes..... we'll be paying for furlough for years...nothing is free, and the usually shafted will cough up, while the wealthy will be offsetting it against something or other...or just avoiding tax as usual. Yep, as a key worker at a power station, worked all through the covid crap, while mate's have sat at home doing fook all but im sure my bloody tax bill is going to rise !!!

Isn't that a B? I rode one like that in 1985 when I was doing the training for my Part 1 test. You can order the Clarke tanks in Lime Green, they might take a while to make it though.

It states A11 on the log book. That's the sum of my knowledge on the subject.

Just read briefly through this and tend to agree parts are mega expensive whole bikes even more, my bro paid 6000 for a whole bike from Glasgow recently and to be honest it's all there uk matching but it's not the best, maybe with another 4 grand in it and it's slowly getting there, people ask these prices and people pay its the market at the moment,, my hybrid is coming along slowly just down to cost of certain parts , but I'm building it for me, to ride to thrash and I guess to be in touch with the days gone by but I've built a hybrid as riding r1s ect there would be no way I'd want to get the knee down on a biscuit of a rear tyre like I did when I was much younger hence a hybrid solid ground underneath I know I can tool around on not everyone's cuppa, but I fear by the time it's finished it will be into the many thousands price tag and I'd be frightened to take it out in the rain never mind rag it,,, its a funny old game, but we still do it alott of us not for money gains investments ect but cos we just love em, as my Mrs says you want a check up from the neck up 😂😂😂😂😂to wich she usally gets the response 👆✌️
