Wow I had one of them too and loved it too and went out everywhere on it I was a silver one and was my first real motorbike after the Tomos moped Loved the 6v electrics where you put main beam on and the indicators stop working Only got rid of it as the cam chain tensioner failed and the cam chain started to eat the tunnel it ran inโน๏ธ

Yes very happy Wanted to really get a TD-C but now they are getting very thin on the ground and even really ropey ones that are original are starting to cost about 1k and good spares are not plentiful So got a slightly later TD-J model with just 10k on the clock The only thing I might do is see if I can get some earlier wheels like below as that is the only real visual difference

I had a silver one very similar to above ( can't remember the exact model) and put it under a car in less than 24 hours Did rebuild it with a new frane etc It was then part exed for an RD125LC I too loved the big bike styling with an exhaust each side etc but my mates were all screaming at me to get an LC But would I listen !

Yes the only problem with the twin pipe /big bike style was the CBT as the gap in three cone on the square you had to ride was very tight with a pipe each side as if you touched a cone it was a fail
But on a DT no problem
Sorry veg for the thread hijack๐
Best wishes Al

No thread hijack alan love this , looked at one think it was 13 bhp yet an unrestricted lc125 was 24?

Post by alankelly on Nov 22, 2020 0:59:31 GMT 1
Yes I think 13hp was the max but the law for a 125 was 12 so I guess the bike was always legal and non rebellious (A typical โboringโ Honda)
Also think they were a marmite bike too either loved or loathed
Ok now back to LC prezzies
Best wishes Al

I once bought a metallic red tdc on a y plate off a guy I knew who was regularly spannering with bikes he,d got this bike to repair for some young lad , had a rebore done on it and it wouldn't start for him so he sold it to me for a hundred quid so I took it home and thought hmm where do I start with this so I swapped to plug leads around and it started rite up!!! The guy was raging I'd got it off ha ha it would do about 70-75 but I once got 55 out of it in 2nd gear it just kept revving right past the red line to about 17 grand or where it should be!! That was the only time I abused it I swapped it for a red MK3 dt lc I really wasn't impressed with that it was slow and worn out gummed up I think don't know what I did with that. John.
