Those look amazing, what a great job done by Alan. I'm not an LC owner, but 3d printing these unavailable parts is such a great idea.

Hi
Nice work on the clocks BTW!!! , Im after some advice if possible please Ive got a 1984 31K 350 and stripped down the clocks to fit new dials as originals were badly faded, Striped down fine, marked resting position of the needles and removed needles ok as per the fitting instructions, and , fitted new dials and put needles back to marked resting position, Temp guage works fine, Speedo works fine BUT Rev counter doesnt, needle moves when revving the bike, but its not reading correctly, presume its not in the correct position! tried for ages moving needle, starting bike and trying to get it around 1000rpm on tick over. Is there an easy way to get the needle back in correct position or is it just trial and error? Any help much appreciated!!

That's an interesting point as I have just built some LC2 31K clocks, but it's several months before they will be fitted to a running bike. I have done this a few times with a 4L0 and by either good luck or management the rev counter has usually worked out ok. I do mark the resting position before removing usually. Maybe the 31K rev counter is a bit trickier. If you find a magic way of doing it other than trial and error let me know!

Hi all
Yes really pleased with the second fit, but also like to say publicly a big thanks to Shaun as without his help with the testing and the feedback and more importantly the lend of the originals (which I did take longer than normal to get modelled upโน๏ธ) things like this cannot happen
And episode 3 โThe return of the white onesโ will be coming soon to a screen near you๐๐
Take it easy all and stay safe Al

Hiย Nice work on the clocks BTW!!! , Im after some advice if possible pleaseย Ive got a 1984ย 31K 350 and stripped down the clocks to fit new dialsย as originals were badly faded,ย Striped down fine,ย marked resting position of the needles and removed needles ok as per the fitting instructions, and , fitted new dials and put needles back to marked resting position, Temp guage works fine, Speedo works fineย BUT Rev counterย doesnt, needle moves when revving the bike, but itsย not reading correctly, presume its not in the correct position! triedย for ages moving needle, starting bike and trying to get it around 1000rpm on tick over. Is there an easy way to get the needle back in correct position or is it just trial and error?ย ย Any help much appreciated!! I think the only way you can do it accurately is by getting another tacho Not to use but to get a calibration from. This is what I do when I get a gauge with no needle on Chop the end off an old Speedo cable and fit it in the chuck of a cordless drill Put it in reverse and drive the good tacho and see what rpm it reads Then do the same with the dodgy one and move the needle till it's the same Also try checking the needle stop isn't tacky as the needle can stick and it only let's go with the force from a higher rpm It also may be that it is knackered. They are delicate and easily broken Steve

They look excellent, one question.... Do the small bracket mounts come pre-fitted (with star washer/glue?), and how tight can it be done up before the clock housing splits? it's just one end is tightened with screwdriver, and other, a spanner/socket. This won't stop me buying by any means. Well done again

This won't stop me buying by any means. Well done again You need 2 off M5 x 25mm dome head screws plus 2 off threaded spacers, M5 x 7 or 8mm outer diameter x 12mm long, per case. You can buy or make these threaded spacers. The screw is inserted from the inside and the threaded spacer holds it in place.

Anyone got any methods for getting the bezel on/off without totally knackering it? You just take your time levering it back 2mm at a time with small flat blade screw driver.. I usually do 3 or 4 passes around the circumference, a little at a time.

Hi
Been thinking long and hard on this one and thinking cost will be ยฃ25 for one or if you want a pair which I think most people will want it will be ยฃ40 for the pair
Plus ยฃ4 on top to post out first class parcel post
I think that is reasonable price based on my time spent to develop a printable design and it takes over 12 hours to print one๐ณ๐ณ(Oh and need also buy another project bike maybe๐๐)
Best wishes Al

Thanks Alan, they will keep me busy for a short while. I'm working part time now thanks to covid, but its given me more time in the garage thankfully. I decided to work myself through my rather large batch of clocks that I've accumulated that have been sat waiting repair, clean-up, converting or whatever. Now with the help of your cases I can complete a number of these.
So if anyone is looking for a mph clock, then give me a shout as will have a few.
Also if you want yours repairing, and/or converting km to mph (or vice versa!) give me a shout as I'm happy to take this on having done a few and gathered up quite a few spare parts.

Hi all Just a quick message Simon wells has mentioned to me that when you are fitting the tacho back in the case just check that the temp gauge is not touching on of the one of the lower ribs and if it is just file I away slightly Sorry for this but want to ensure a trouble free rebuild Best wishes Al
