Very nice 😎
A lot better than the 400. I rode one and would have sworn the brakes were stuck on
They weren't 😞

I rode our demo gpx250 barely ran in before it blew up awful bike often wondered what a 250 4 would be like, fzr250 that sought of thing. Just realised this has a 5 spoke rear and a 7 spoke front thought they were 5 spoke wheels on these?

A lot of the 400 efforts had problems for some reason. The first gsx400 was bad. Mates had cb400 fours, handle ok but I preferred the 550. Was a very tidy katana 650 for sale a while back (with the practical shaft drive) that looked a nice example. Shaft drive bikes have been discussed a bit on other threads, liked the xj650 and know someone that still has one. The z500 was one I liked, only rode the last model gpz550, seem to remember it was fully faired but might have been a half fairing as I did ride a gpz750 that was.

Of course yours is the slightly earlier non mono shock rather than the later GPz, i owned a GPz 750 unitrack that had turbo paint work and body work with a harris 4-1, started on a Gs550M Katana gutless struggled to top a ton.

Whilst it may have been reliable, I believe that to be my least favourite bike in 42 years of riding. Apologies to anyone who actually likes a Z400J, we are all different and have different tastes

A. How many reckon bikes you got? B. It was the law to have a harris on a big kwak that's what i had on my GPZ750. C.Z1100R's still cool as all these years later. Always remind me of my fave bike racing scene, AMA super bikes.

Brilliant tbh if my wife and sons horses didn’t swallow so much dosh I’d do the same. It’s a small price to pay for me to allow me the garage time though .

Love the 80’s when you look at what we started the 80’s with twin shock gpz and ended it with zxr what an incredible decade

I had the opposite Gpz750 turbo with the red/silver on black gpz paintwork Wierdly it was registered in 86 on a D plate. A full 2 years after it was made 🤨 Oh, and a Harris pipe 😎 Steve

Back in the day I had RD's, LC's and then I had a GPZ600 forever because I loved it, was always a bit pissed that I didn't have a GPZ550H1, so I bought one a couple of years ago, it was pretty tidy when I got it apart from the tank being nearly see through (I'm not kidding it was like tin foil) and it was pretty cheap, I got another tank from the states which was mint inside and mark cordwell painted it in firecracker red for me so paint is mint, I've done nothing since and once I've more or less emptied the garage I'll get on with it next. Looks nicer than it is in that picture, it cost about £700 like that and with spare carbs, I want to mint it but parts seem to be none existent.
