If you add up cases £100, UK Speedo £200, Good Rev Counter £100, Green Bracket £40, Wiring etc £40 = £480, plus ebay fees etc... Not far away!
The set I put together would fetch £500+ on the Ebay marketplace.

You certainly did, a decent tacho is up to £100 on ebay now 🙄 I was more than willing to pay £300 as the cases were excellent and still had the writing on Steve

Yes I paid £300 for a kph pair but if I buy new mph faces for £60 and a donor Speedo for £40 to convert the kph odometer to mph after an hour of work I have a uk mph set for £400
The set I built for my hybrid soon added up even with getting parts cheaper off someone I knew
Tacho with faded dial - £60 KPH Speedo - £60 New faces from Simon Wells - £60 New 4L3 cases - £100 Bracket, wires etc - £30 Donor MPH Speedo for parts £40
So £350 - £400 is the cheapest you can make a set

Or new cases from Norbo’s£100 Koso speedo £120 Koso tach £120 Bingo new and cool as set for half the price. Was looking in some of my old Lc club magazines from 2002-2004 and we were selling nice bikes for £1500. My problem is that’s still really what they cost in my head I was pissed when I paid £2500 5 or 6 years ago for 20,000 mile import.

At least I know they went to a good home.

Go into my Lc build the models are in that build can’t remember of the top of my head, several of us have used them think it may have been Dave (Trubrit) or Dave (Muttsnutts) who did it first. You need to fabricate a small bracket to mount them in the clock Binnacle but it’s fairly easy.

I’ve got a nice set of UK clocks with a completely faded red line.
I’m almost tempted to leave them as they are risking breaking tachometer needle for the sake of paint.
I have new dials and covers, but wonder if it’s worth the effort ?

I got a set trade of a guy who knows a guy in the trade as a favour and got them at cost which was £84.62

I have new dials and covers, but wonder if it’s worth the effort ? Jon The old needle breaking risk lol The last couple I've done I didn't remove the needle off the spindle as such The needle has a brass insert that is fitted to the needle centre and is a tight fit onto the spindle When you try to separate the brass bit off the spindle that's where the force is needed and the jerk as it comes off is what breaks the needle. On the last 2 I have used 2 spoons under the black disc of the needle but not right up to the brass insert That way the plastic needle tends to come off more gently leaving the brass knurled insert on the spindle Once the needle is off you can lever off the insert with a pair of wire cutters and easily Refitted into the needle Steve

Also there are other sources of LC needles Just bought my second set of these bad boys 🤣 Same needles, the odometer gears fitted into the last kmh lc Speedo I did and I think even the face fits if you are doing a hybrid £40 bargain 😁 Steve

I have a better set on mine.. with original green finish on the bracket with no fading on anything. In one pic the plastic looks to have been spray painted. Must be "worth" considerably more than these.

Over £5k already madness, motors really going to need doing plus all those other bits and bobs so say another £1500-2000 for a UK bike with unknown/provenance mileage These things are getting out of hand now, couple of bikes over £10,000 on eBay
