The domes look good. How much bigger are they compared to your piston diameter. I noticed on my Drive Line cylinder head that there is a bit of movement in the fitment of the head and it can be fitted a tiny bit c**keyed which meant the piston crown could hit the dome.

Will have a measure and get back. I didnโt machine them

Oversight on the dry build. No header tank catered for. Luckily found one in my โ cannot throw that outโ shite stash. Plus a place to mount it

Itโs like buses, when two come along at once. Only yesterday was I thinking about this. One solution was to pin the head. I have fresh 65mm bores on a YPVS. I was thinking of turning up 2 x10mm thick disks. Then a rod to snugly fit in the spark plug threads attached to the disks. Drill a hole in the head and insert a pin just protruding but with a sharp point put the disks in the barrels, bolt the head up and hopefully centre punch the barrel. That way it should be square and need minimal over the 65mm. Was thinking of 66mm. Jon

Jon Check the head bolts in the head for slack Know when slinger did my head it is matched to the bore size (as in if I bore out to next size I need the head cut again) but it is not pinned Discovered the head bolt holes are tapered on the head when I had to grind down my SS head bolts as a few got tight before they gripped the head Looked like some holes were made tighter to locate the head in place May just have been a one off but worth checking Steve

Pistons are 64.5 Domes are 65.8 Will take note of what you are saying ๐

Got a bit more done. Iโm using a Driveline clutch pressure plate kit. Thought I had best address the other issue. โSaggy Rubbersโ Out with the old In with the new Waiting for the EBC plates to arrive, couldnโt wait to see how the painted cases looked

Iโve had some clutch slip issues with my Tdr385. Same spec as this motor. However it runs fully synthetic gear oil. Which might be the cause. So to rectify the issue with this motor. Iโm going back to Motul mineral oil. Heard lots of positive comments about the Driveline pressure plate. So using one of them. So hoping this clutch doesnโt slip.

I put one in a 4LO for sprinting and it worked a treat. Without the stealth locker the oil was black. The next time with the stealth locker the oil was still clean so did it's job well.

The stealth locker looks good, unless you get your balls jammed... Is that a joke Rob, or a serious warning ๐ฌ๐ฌ? Possibly both! In theory, the balls could jam of the aluminium backing plate wears as the balls get crushed. Would be worth checking after it has been in for a while.

Also, if these work as well as the other style of lockup clutch, you should not need any heavy springs, as it looks like you have 3 of one type and 3 of another??
