Thanks for the welcome
First job is to get it running, previous owner has rebuilt the top end and put jetting back to stock with stock pipes
I am about to order a carb rebuild kit and few other bits.
Don’t think a full resto is what I want so either just get it running or add some modern suspension wheels and brakes
But open to suggestions from you knowledgeable people

Welcome aboard, nice to have new members. We all start needing a few tweaks and before we know it we are sucked into a full rebuild, followed by a hybrid build for some of the guys on here!
Have fun whatever you do, you won't regret buying an LC.

Hi All
I decided to pull the front brakes off last night and they need a complete refurb.
Before I start spending money on returning to original, what is the best value hybrid conversion?
With your experience, is the best route to buy a donor bike and take off all the parts needed?
Which bike - trying to do this on a budget?
Thanks

Also wanted to ask about exhausts. Bike came with severeal spare sets, including the two below, the chrome one is Micron, the other has JL, so assuming Jim Lomas? Any ideas which would be best, as will plan to sell the ones I don't use.

Hybrid wise the most common is the rgv conversion, need a spacer under bottom yoke and normally people get Nigel kimber at Nk racing to do swing arm adaption, but you need to look at them to see if they suit the look you’re after, then there is the Kr1s and any other combination. The rgv is starting to get prohibitively expensive, non are cheap cheap it depends on what you are after, look at the build section on the forum for ideas and ask questions everyone is generally helpful. Exhaust again what do you want from them performance? Looks? Mid range? The Jl pipes are ok the microns are worth money ( not as much as early small cans though) you need to think about the overall look you’re aiming at.

Also use the search function on the forum as most questions have been asked numerous times and the answers are out there, also generally when asking new questions post new threads as they tend to otherwise get lost. Get prepared to have deep pockets, most stuff for the lc is available from rdlc crazy website which is owned by Norbo this sites owner he is a top bloke and you generally won’t find stuff cheaper and all the bits he has are a known quantity and quality unlike other ‘specialist’ sites eg yam bits

The JL pipes will try to rev to the moon, so probably not best for a road bike. The Microns are a good option performance wise.
Cheapest option is to just sort what needs doing to start with. It sounds like you are not necessarily after 100% standard, so that allows a lot more flexibility.
A brake upgrade is an easy first step if your callipers are shot. You can fit R6 style blue spot callipers with adapters from NK racing and use your current front disks if they are okay. Or make your own adapters. Other calliper options are available.
Where are you based?

Where are you based? I like the idea of a revvy engine - that is part of the RD experience ? But don't want it unrideable, so quite how bad will bike be with JL pipes?
Decided that back to standard is not the plan.
Calipers don't seem to bad, so tempted to refurb and then sell on
Spoke to NK Racing (very helpful) and he suggested a CBR400RR NC29 as a good donor bike. I reckon if I can get one at the right price and maybe sell off my RD parts should not cost too much - thoughts?
Bike also came with spare barrels and pistons - any idea of their value, as tempted to sell to re-coup some money?

All depends on condition and bore size, standard obviously will demand more than those towards the end of their life and needing sleeving.

The JL pipes may be tuned for over 10K RPM, which is not good for crank life. The Microns would peak closer to 9K RPM so more crank friendly.
