Said it before and I am guilty of having built one but the now look wrong to me, too long and too low at the back like fat b*****d has sat on them and squished it.. each to their own though.

It looks untouched from when he had it
My LC RGV soup of parts still hasn't been finished so can't comment on how it rides etc !
Plus Athena top end, no powervalves for that power band kick LOL

I agree with the arm comment but the valve lump is far superior Mr Vegetable +1 I know YPVS engines feel more linear than LC engines, but that’s only because they fill in the missing power of an LC engine at bottom end and then produce more power top end. If your not bothered about originality a YPVS engine in an LC is the only logical choice to me. I do own an LC/TZR running gear hybrid with an LC engine, but if someone wanted a swap for a similar condition YPVS engine I’d do it tomorrow. Jon

Jon you're a heretic. Having had a hybrid and a cough cough lc2 i do like the pv lump but i prefer the power character of the original lump esp when it has a tz700 barrel, 34 mm carbs and race pipes ahem.

Hardly think its all or nothing, yes there is a marked jump in power when it hits the sweet spot, but a 350 should easily be able to move nicely under that, mine does, if its truely all or nothing ....... its broke

Interesting comments on the difference between these engines, personally I've never ridden a PV so couldn't say. I bought a 4LO because that's what I had back in the day, it's more about memories/nostalgia for me I guess.
At the end of the day both bikes/engines are old designs,...if you really want better handling and power, just buy something else.

I find the pv lump is more civilised, its easier to live with on a daily basis obviously if it is tuned its a different proposal, however for me that adrenalin rush as the lc kicks in is what takes me back to being 20. horses for courses.

The guy has put his bike for sale, so why do people on forums talk a load of shit and damage the guys sale How does commenting on a bike damage a sale? If someone likes it enough to buy it it makes no difference what other people think.

My TDR reminds me a bit of the original LC, bit flat low down, then warp factor 7 all of a sudden.
Must say I prefer my Mick Abbey tuned 350 valve, much more bottom and mid range, but still a good rush at the top end.

Mark the poster Nibbs joined in 2010 and has posted only twice in respect of this thread, i suspect he is just out to be controversial by coming on and then insulting Doohan, or its his bike?
