Needed a rear master cylinder for a ypvs 🤔
Looks in garage and finds one needing a rebuild kit and an fzr one (14mm)
Looks on ebay and finds a genuine rebuild kit for £50. A pattern is £20-£30 then there is the issue of repainting the master and brake fluid ruining it 🙁
Looks at a new one and they are £320+ from Fowlers 😱
Searches the part number on ebay and finds a new genuine, still in box master cylinder advertised as early banshee
Seventeen, yes you heard it seventeen quid 😀
Even with £19 post and £10 duty that's £46 all in
Happy days 😊
Steve

Hello. I`m a new member and can`t work out how to post. As you look at the home page you will see the different sections like lc/YPVS chat, rebuilds, advice etc If you select one of the sections it shows the different topic "threads" You will see a "create thread button. Clicking on it will open a box you can type in then click on the "create thread" button below the text box That will post up your message in that section Also in each thread you will see a reply button. Clicking on that will allow you to comment on a particular thread Some one else has posted Hope that helps Steve

Had one before Christmas, although not bike related Been looking to buy a lift for the garage, to make working on my cars easier, base is 8 inches thick on one side, as a double was built over the existing single, but the other side is only 4 inches deep, and that's borderline for bolting a two post lift to, plus I have restricted height, so could only get a low lift, so useless, then there are scissor lifts, again only lift a meter, and restrict access underneath the car. Been looking at quickjacks, which are hydraulic frames, one each side of the car, and lift equally to about 21 inches high, plenty of room to crawl about under, which is what I would have had to have done with a ramp Two post ramp and scissor lift approximately £1700 delivered Watching eBay I noticed a local detailing company had listed two new, but not in the packaging quickjacks, list price for these are £1300, but they were selling for £800, and one was to include a Clarke jump starter pack to power the hydraulic unit, which lists at £160, they had apparently ordered 4 when only needing 2 .... raced round and did the deal, never get a bargain me, until now.

I've used David Gerald's for the time I've owned it (11 years) and that's only to keep the already comprehensive service history up to date, as luckily enough its appreciated rather well in my care, so would be stupid for what it costs to neglect it. I still do work on it myself, hence the need to get it in the air easier, getting older makes things more awkward now.

Like you Steve I've had a couple of wins too
A NOS F1 instrument holder 4 euro and the rubber cover to go with it, also NOS 4 euro, post was 20 euro on each though from Germany
The bargains are out there, its just a matter of being on line at the correct time, I think we can all relate to that
Was toying with an RZ250R roller with matching numbers engine inc all electrics, no fairings though, sold for $465 AUD or about 230 quid, freight was the killer for me at 375 quid, second new hip required and the missus wants a new kitchen, both of those ain't cheap
It will have to wait

Hi Jon
No it was in Keysborough, Victoria
He had an F1 frame too, both chassis numbers came out of REVS all clear, I couldn't get hold of anyone to get me a price on delivery of the frame, due to the time of year it was listed, it went for $150
I was tempted by the frame, but with no idea on the delivery cost, I bailed out
Both would've suited me to a T though
How are you any way Jon, everyone safe?
