haha, pretty funny and yes it is cheap. Would be more than that here for sure. Its very "Kenny'd" for sure. would make a decent runabout I reckon.
Interesting its an 84 and a 29L. 84 can only be JDM as all the ADM ones are 85s. I dont know if the JDM 51Ls were 29L coded, but here they were 1GAs. If it is JDM then why does the engine match the frame? the engine should just say the bike code and no number, right?

I thought that as well regarding the engine and frame numbers
Would it have come originally from the UK to the States then back again?
Or was it brought from Japan to the states then the UK, but then that upsets the engine number stamp
its got the correct end can type exhausts on it for a RZ250R, as in AUS model
RZ2500RR I thought was the domain of the JDM
Indicators suggest an 86 F2 type model as they aren't rectangular
Forks are definitely 84/85 as it has clipons
The wheels, if not painted gold, are the USA/Japan ones as are the calipers
Curious about this one
Xavier will be along in a bit to sort us all out

Yes matching numbers suggests it ain't Jap
The indicators are not original as F2 type
Would be interesting to see the clocks to see if there is a 50mph light/red section for Jap or a 55mph marker for USA
There were 250's in Europe but never seen a 51L.
Maybe South African?

According to the vin it is an 84 Jap market bike but then they don't list an Aus 51L
51L 84 is 29l 04 to 29l 08
51l 85 is 29l 08 on (ysp model)

I thought the only places that got the 51Ls was Japan and Aus, ours are 1GA models, not 29L
I think the colours and wheels are done up to look more KR, ie more like his race bikes and the USA models. I dont think any of that was what it was delivered with when new.
The engine number could have been stamped once it left japan, id like to see it and I reckon its a DIY not Yam job.

Would be interesting to see the clocks to see if there is a 50mph light/red section for Jap or a 55mph marker for USA Steve You can sort of see a red band on the speedo, in a couple of the pics. Or it looks that way to me

I think that redness is something reflecting on the glass
You can see the reflection on the tacho
Mirrors are wrong for an 85 too
I have some USA gold rims, they are anodised, I'll check to see the design of the anodising, I think the ones on there are painted

Regardless of red bands and mirrors, I do think you could do a lot worse for your £s... a lot worse. I don't think it is an unreasonable price at all.

Correct, it's à 84 RZ250RR 51L model from JDM www.rd350lc.net/page51L-84.htmIt has the optional solo seat and bottom fairing. Pipes are OEM, indicators as Well but rear mirrors are European version. Grey import from Japan. Xavier

I knew you'd be along shortly Xavier
So the indicators were the same as the F2, interesting

😉 Yes they got F2 indicators 2 years before us, the variable damper fork and rectangular rear arm 1 year before our 57V / 1JF.

Yes Howard, our 1GA had the rectangular paddles as it was meant to be a mini 500.
