Property "developers" of the biking world. Only you don't need an expensive frame.. and can walk away. So less c**tish than the t**ts profiting from and placing housing out of ££ reach.. And is it steel!! It's deffo not a steal.. unless it was nicked... hence no big apple docs.
Oh hold on.. its not too bad...you get 300 nectar points.

Already had a say on this topic, but I agree it's just getting bonkers, what about the 350lc on just now for 13k!!!!? How can somebody honestly sit there and say I think my bike will sell for 13k when every other one is 5500 - 6k unless it was frame number 001 or its last keeper was Barry Sheene I dont get it , greedy greedy greedy b*****ds.

I think the biggest problem is that people want originality and are willing to pay for a limited supply of original parts. In the old days, people discarded many of the parts that are now highly valued and expensive, tool trays, centre stands etc. Most bikes that I had or saw locally on the road were modified either by choice or following a collision. The price of rebuilds to original spec are a lot more expensive so the price of original parts reflects the market demand. Why would a seller sell something cheap when people are willing to pay a higher price. Until the market or demand cools, prices will continue to rise, particularly for the more desirable models

I looked at that, then underneath was a "similar" item. It was a Yamaha R3 frame for about £750. Now that would make a very nice hybrid!

What a dreamer, "complete restored lc2 are going for 10k " really,?and even if they were, why would that justify 4k for a rolling chassis, however well restored its claimed to be How much are restored ypvs lumps now including buying one to start with 2.5k plus? Can't see that selling

He's had that bike up for sale before, remember seeing the 81 road tax disc, can't recall the price, this were months ago, obviously a stupid amount hence why he's still got it.

prices are ridiculous, trouble is the people who would love to ride these ultimate eco unfriendly and smile generating legends of the 80's now have a few quid and want to relive their teenage dream... ps just paid 6.5k for a 1981 350lc with rebuilt engine with tz crank, lightened flywheel, ypvs carbs , brand new small can allspeeds, , ypvs forks , metmachex swing arm and trick shock. can't wait till spring and piss off the neighbours

Well, there is some engineering in that 250 !! You gotta hope it's been done to a better standard than the paint scheme idea though . Seriously, if you got that cheap enough and dealt with the paint, then maybe... Dusty

Dusty Sure, that's an unusual paint scheme,...I'm trying to imagine that tail section being white rather than red, maybe I could live with that then.

Jeez thats a horror... the clock photo says a lot about the quality of what is there.
The 4k roller is just silly, the 13k LC is beyond a joke. The guy bought it to do up and is claiming back his hours in the sale price as well as a profit. Never gonna happen.

Bang on, the seller seems to be charging resto labour rate ontop of the bike they seem to creep a few hundred every year not 7k!! But you've also got to understand the "dealer mentality" where the I've got overheads moan comes in, I had a mate who thought nothing of giving somebody 750 for a bike spending 200 on it and putting it in his showroom for 3k! Not in buisness anymore tho..and as far as the originality argument goes that's fair enough but not over twice the price and if it's that original then that means you did,not need to buy as many parts cause they were already there.

I reckon I could do something with that (apart from skipping or torching it!!) But it would have to be considerably less than 2k. Dusty

What has happened is the public have taken quite a while to see that they were good vehicles.

Seventeen times winners on the trot of the RAC rally under 1300cc class. What has happened is the public have taken quite a while to see that they were good vehicles. I went to East Germany in 1990 - not long after unification - and saw a Trabant waiting a good 250 yards away from a T junction for the lights to show green. There was a slight incline just before the junction and he needed a run-up to get enough momentum for the hill. Few cars are as shit as a Trabant .. doubt they would ever complete a rally never mind win one.
