I had a venhil PV cable that had a nipple come off. :/
I had Motion Pro in the USA copy a NLA choke XL500R cable for me, right PITA to get them to do it how I wanted and costly. And... it wasnt anyway near as good as an OEM one.
My advice is to pay up for the new LC one, at least you know it works properly. The bits you touch are your interaction with the bike; throttle, clutch, brakes, gearchange etc. Dont skimp on those parts and you'll enjoy your bike more.
LCs have risen in value considerably the past few years, the OEM isnt cheap but its not impossible to find and wont mean you overcapitalise on your restoration. Until Norbo gets some more in (hes not said he can tho) buy a new OEM one, that's what I always do.
