I use the RD all year round but this has been the worst year mileage wise for me. My bike has still got s knobbly rear tyre on it which makes an interesting ride on tarmac. I will make a point of riding itbwhen I finish the job I'm on.

Nope . At the moment my bikes are garden ornaments. Council has sold the lock ups i was at and they have been demolished to have some bungalows built. So until i have a drive put on the front of the house they will be out the back .

So at this cold wet and dark time of the year is any one still out on a bike . I use my modern bike to get to work etc year round, it sure beats using a car if you have to go any where near a city during rush hour. Forecast is cold but dry for the next few days, I'll certainly be out on my LC then.

Did get out on 2 days last week with a break in the weather, roads were covered in crap though. Don’t mind to a certain extent negotiating the really slippy bits, to a certain extent it can be rewarding but I prefer country lanes and B roads and they are the worst. If it’s cold but dry have even got out on Christmas Day, when football is on is another time I might as the roads are quieter.

... when football is on is another time I might as the roads are quieter. Yes I used to love it when the world cup was on, or even the Grand National. Perfect time to get out for a hoon. One of the joys of never being a football fan. Al Murray said of his lack of interest in it as meaning he had less baggage to carry around. I totally understand that. bliss!

I ride all year round except when theres ice about but another bike and not the YPVS or R1-Z. Which to be fair are both in dock, I,ve really got to have them both on the road in 2020

I don't do many miles at all but I love to get down the local bike café as much as I can but this wet October really killed that off a month earlier than normal
Seems a long time until next spring .. GULP !

Unless I was just checking something out as a shakedown ride, wouldn’t bother kitting up and starting the bike unless I am going to do 100 miles plus. In the year I had my lc 350 , apart from oil and petrol , bet I never did more than adjust tyre pressures and chain. Can’t see why things will be any different than the usage of the bikes I use now, with more knowledge, money and other resources than I had in the day. A lot of our holidays involve for instance, stick the bike in the van for the mundane motorway stuff, stay in a cheap hotel and ride around in a big circle and points in between. If I have an issue that strands us, would rustle up a taxi to take one or both of us back (depending on how secure the bike may be ) and go collect the bike. My van is reliable but old and not worth much, so if for instance it packed up with terminal problems coming back from the Nurburgring, would just abandon it and ride home. Would be quite happy to trust the lc to do that. Next year.

Always I don’t drive a car I have sv650 for commuting, I get very grumpy if I don’t get out on a bike for more than a couple of days
